Hard working, honest, dedicated, goal oriented, highly

motivated, and resourceful. Just a few words to describe

the group I met with at lunch on January 28th to form

committees for our 3 major events for 2015. There were

some terrific ideas shared and a willingness to work

together to make positive things happen in Royse City.

These chairs are looking for good teams to work with them.

Drop them a line if you are ready to take the initiative!

Luncheon Sponsorship Opportunities are still available

on August 18, September 15, October 20 & December 15. One

sponsor per month will have their name associated with

all advertising for the meeting; will have three minutes at

the beginning of the luncheon to say something about their

business; may put information at every table place-setting;

their company name will be posted on the Chamber website

and included in the Chamber newsletter.

The fee for this sponsorship opportunity is $100. If you

would like to reserve your spot for a particular month,

please call or e-mail the Chamber office.

The Royse City Mob Squad struck again this past week at an

unsuspecting small business. Lyndie’s Unique Boutique

in downtown Royse City unexpectedly received some extra

shoppers on Thursday the 29th. Once a month the Chamber

organizes a group of citizens to surprise a local store and

spend at least $10. Everyone is welcome and you do not

need to be a Chamber member to be a part of the fun. Be

sure to check out our Facebook Page at Royse City Chamber

of Commerce for dates!

MEET YOUR TEACHERtanya hodges

Counselor at Miss May Vernon Elementary

Tanya Hodges, Tanya has been

teaching for 13 years. She began

teaching first grade and has also

served as a Reading and Math

Interventionist, and currently a

Counselor for Miss May Vernon

Elementary. Hodges is a Royse

City High School graduate and

earned her Bachelor and Master degrees from Tarleton

State University.

Miss May Vernon’s 2014 Campus Teacher of the Year

sums up her passion for teaching with this:

“We are the agent of change for our students. We have

been placed in their lives to make a difference and

teach them how to learn and what they need to be

successful. I didn’t become a teacher because it was an

easy job. I became a teacher because I love children. I

accept the challenge, whatever curve balls are thrown

whether through testing and accountability or life

circumstances, I am the one that is going to catch it,

tweak it, make it palatable, and adjust it to fit each and

every student so they can catch it too, because I am

an educator.”

This loyal beauty has waited so patiently and is still looking

for a forever home. She does have some requirements, but is

so deserving. For more information please call 214-934-9352

or 214-796-1445 or [email protected]
