LTG ELECTWelcome our LTG Elect!

Bobby Scherer I'm currently a junior at Baytown Christian Academy

that joined Key Club as a way to help people all over the world get the resources they need to survive and live the best lives they can. I'm excited to move up into the LTG position so that I can help clubs run smoothly and allow them to do their jobs and focus on the less fortunate. I am hoping to get involved with Kiwanis after the end of my high school career to continue offering a helping hand to this amazing organization that does so much good.

Winter Board

The Texas-Oklahoma District Board had a winter board, and as a lieutenant governor, I was required to attend. We had an amazing time and we planned so much for DCON. This year we have been extremely productive and I honestly believe we have some of the greatest members on our board this year. We received reports from the District Governor, Secretary, and Treasurer that covered our specific divisions. Division 28 still needs to pay many of its dues and start reporting more! We have got to pull ourselves together! Other divisions are making us look extremely bad guys, so let’s pull ourselves together!

After reviewing all of the work going into DCON, it should be very exciting this year. The committee that I am a part of is the “Event Public Relations Committee.” We delivered our report and we are months ahead of schedule, so good going for us! There were some amendments that tried to get passed at this meeting.

Keep up the good work guys!

Sincerely,

Mason Woods

Hello T-O Key Clubbers!

This year has been filled with service that you’ve done all around your communities. Why not celebrate all the work you’ve done? Fellow members, I have the honor to invite you to the 67th annual District Convention where all your achievements will be cele-brated in a weekend where the mission of service is accepted.

For three days and nights with over 1,000 Key Club members at the well-known Sheraton Hotel in Dallas, you will learn new ways to help the community, interact with other members around the district, and make un-forgettable memories. Included will be many fun activities, exciting and informative fo-rums, and a variety of contests in which any-one can participate!

I hope that you strengthen your passion in becoming a servant leader throughout the weekend. We will help you find that passion through informative forums ranging an im-mense amount of topics from learning the

basics of key club to public speaking to event planning. Learn from our district board how you can grow in leadership, improve your club, and much more!

This bulletin includes important information on how to register, requirements for attend-ing, and descriptions on what will be hap-pening at DCON. After reading this bulletin, be sure to look through the rest of the re-source package where you can find code of contest and awards, candidacy forms, patch requirements, etc. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your lieutenant governor or myself. We hope to see at DCON 2016 on April 21st-24th!

Yours In Service,

Megan Reynosa

Hotel Information The Sheraton Hotel is a clear landmark in Downtown Dallas with its gorgeous city views from 242 suites. Convention guests will enjoy relaxing in the comfort of the modern rooms provided by the

four diamond rated hotel with a crisp white Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Bed, flat panel HDTV, and eco-friendly features. With its recent $90 million redesign, attendants are sure to have a luxurious stay.

All hotel reservations must be made through the HOTEL by each club separately before registering for District Convention. You will need to contact the convention hotel to make room reservations for your club (making note of the confirmation numbers). To reserve your rooms, call the Sheraton at 214.922.8000. Then submit your convention registration online and mail your con-vention registration fees as instructed by the site. You cannot make room reservations through the T-O District office. Be sure to inform the hotel that you are with the Texas-Oklahoma Key Club Convention to ensure you get our discounted convention rate.

The hotel price is set at $150.00/night per room plus tax. It is a requirement that all convention attendees stay at the appropriate convention hotel. Failure to register at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel will effectively cancel your convention registration. If the hotel becomes over-booked, contact the T-O District Key Club Administrator for overflow hotel information at 830-733-0008.

Be sure to request a confirmation of hotel reservations from the hotel. This will ensure that your rooms will be available and eliminate confusion or problems when

checking into the hotel.

The total occupancy tax rate in Dallas is 15%. Of that, the state sales tax rate is 6.0%. Schools are encouraged to use their tax-exempt status (TX schools only) to re-move 6.0% sales tax (NO exemption for remaining hotel tax). To take advantage of this, a club must pay for room and tax by school or organization check and pre-sent a copy of their tax-exempt certificate. This may be done upon check-in.

Before requesting a school check or determining your means of payment, confirm with the hotel the total cost of all rooms, including all taxes.

We suggest that any club that plans to arrive late con-tact the hotel to make sure room reservations are held. Check-in time is at 3:00PM and checkout time on April 24th is at 12:00PM.

Per Key Club International policy, no adult may share a sleeping room with a student. In addition, male and female students are prohibited from accommodating the same room. Please make your reservations accord-ingly.
