DIVERSITYMonday,

February , 2015 “To be distinct in kind and many different kinds.”At RMS this month we celebrate our differences-

cultural, physical, emotional and social. We discuss the meaning of Black History Month and

Women’s History Month. We demonstrate tolerance of others in many ways and discuss how cliques and stereotypes erode our respect

for others.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Don't worry about knowing

people; just make yourself

worth knowing." ~Unknown

THE NO PLACE FOR HATERESOLUTION OF RESPECT

We pledge, from this day forward to do our best to combat prejudice and to stop those who violate the

civil rights of others. We will seek to understand those who are different. We believe that one person

can make a difference and that no person should stand by when it comes to opposing hate. We will

speak out against prejudice and discrimination. We will reach out to those who are victims of hate. We know that we must all promote harmony, equality and respect. By signing the pledge, we commit

ourselves to creating a community that is No Place for Hate.

Do you remember Valentine’s Day when you were in elementary school? It was a big day! You would go home with a bag full of valentines and maybe some candy hearts. Then you became a teenager, and suddenly it was uncool

to exchange valentines.Well guess what: It’s never uncool to express love and

affection toward others. After all, that’s what Valentine’s Day is all about. Isn’t it? So, today, get into the spirit of

things and show your teachers and classmates a little love and appreciation. A few kind words will do. A valentine note would be even better. Happy Valentine’s Day-this

Saturday to us all.

ATTENTION STUDENTS

Students will be going outside during lunch for

recess. If you plan to go outside,
