Felip Burgos (Barcelona, 1954) is a emeritus researcher of IDIBAPS, respiratory scientist in theRespiratory Diagnostic Center of Respiratory Department in Hospital Clínic, Spain. Dr. Burgosgraduated from the Nursing School of the University of Barcelona (UB), a master’s degree inrespiratory medicine from the UB and Pompeu Fabra and the PhD degree from UB. AssociateProfessor (Biomedical Engineering) at UB. During the last 30 years, he has been involved inLung Function Laboratory in several topics. He has published over 100 original manuscripts,editorials and reviews and 27 book chapters, over 20000 citations and h index of 33, and hehas participated in several European projects.He was a Research Fellow at Harbor-UCLA in Torrance. He is also a regular member of theERS-ATS Pulmonary Function Standards Committee. He has participated in numerous multi-center studies and clinical trials. He was awarded in 2016 with the ERS Assembly LifetimeAchievement Award, and European Fellow of European Respiratory Society (FERS) in 2018,award that recognizes lifetime excellence and contributions to research, education and clinicalleadership in respiratory medicine.His actual research interests involve the study of aspects of lung function, telemedicine andchronicity. And participating in different internationals Task Forces “HERMES Spirometry:“The ERS Spirometry Driving License” (steering committee 2008-17) and Chair 2017. ERSTask Force: Telemonitoring of ventilator-dependent patients (2013-2016) and Update of ATS/ERS standardization of the single breath uptake of CO in the lung. (2015-2016).
