The parish’s feeding program kicked off to a rousing start last April 23 in its new home, at the parish’s old nursery school. Fifty undernourished boys and girls with ages ranging from two to seven years were selected as this year’s participants. In addition to receiving a healthy and nutritious meal and vitamins from Monday to Friday, the children are taught the basics on how to pray, read, write, sing, etc., by volunteers from the Social Services ministry. The parents also receive information and training on health and wellness, and natural family planning. Now on its seventh year in the parish, the feeding program continues to be blessed with the overwhelmingly generous and consistent support of SAAP parishioners. More sponsors and volunteers are always welcome! Anyone who wishes to donate time or resources to the feeding program will please get in touch with Ms. Ope Lopez or Ms. Bing Campos through the parish office.

he emphasized the stone located in Mt. Ascension, Israel where Christ stood up as he ascended into heaven is now being covered by the Muslim. At present, it is hard for the Christians to look on this stone. They are trying to hide Jesus Christ in the lives of the Christians. Likewise, we have our own celebrities that we idolize like Lady Gaga but she tries to influence the people in blaspheming and covering Jesus Christ through her songs and concerts. The young men should observe and carefully examine the things surrounding on us.

A conference on the New English translation of the Roman Missal, the literal translation of the Latin text was excellently introduced by Fr. Genaro “Genie” O. Diwa, Minister of the Archdiocesan Liturgical Commission. In 2001, the Holy See released a new set of guidelines for the translation of liturgical books which requires a word-for-word translation that is closer to the original Latin in context and syntax. In 2002, the Holy See promulgated the 3rd typical edition of the Roman Missal. In 2010, the Pope approved the new English translation produced by the International Committee on English in the Liturgy and the Holy See’s Vox Clara Commission. This new translation replaces the second edition in use since 1975. In July 2011, the CBCP voted to implement this new translation for the whole Philippines on the First Sunday

of Advent of 2012 which falls on 2 December 2011 by which time, Masses celebrated in English will have to use the new translation. The evaluation of the liturgical language must be done every 25 years but the English language translation that we use today is since 1975. This New Roman Missal aims to be familiar with peculiar English sentence construction in retaining its sense of sacredness.

After lunch, team building activities were facilitated by the LUBID and Manila Seminarians. It was a moment of fun and the strengthening of relationships. Touch my can, Untying the knot on a rope, CD on a stick and lifting up the heavy tire through the three ropes were successfully finished with determination and cooperation. The stories and moral lessons imparted by the participants teach us to live in the profile of an altar server namely: piety, decorum, discipline, reverence, and brotherhood. These are some important ideas ought to apply in serving the Lord in our respective parishes. At the end, the facilitator shared this thought: A vision without action is just dreaming and an action without vision has no direction but a vision with action will surely achieve the reality of success. It was a memorable day of fellowship for everyone!

a Santacruzan is being held by the different barangays surrounding the St. Andrew the Parish Church. As is the custom, the religious regiment winded up in the Church where picture-taking to ducument the event and a simple agape of pancit, pork barbecue, puto, and bottled water were enjoyed by the famished and tired participants.

Sister Lita Caasi, head of the Family Rosary Crusade said that she hopes this activity will live on and continue to be a bonding statement of unity, peace and love among the different barangays being served by the Parish, rich or poor alike.

According to her she felt overjoyed when the Living Rosary conducted the day before in the Church was also well-attended. She hopes that events like this would foster better understanding and cooperation among all the villagers and parishioners.

Ms. Marietta `Baby’ Reyes, remembered that during her time, the beateous Ms. Ging Santos was always

chosen as the Reyna Elena. This year’s Reyna Emperatriz and Reyna Elena were mother and daughter Mickey Rodriguez and Francine Esmilla. During the time of former Parish Priest Monsignor Sunga, however, for no apparent reason, the Santacruzan was discontinued.

This time around, with the support and guidance of Msgr. Odiver and Assistant Parish Priest Fr. Allan Dichoso SAAP can look forward to another Santacruzan, if not grander , in the years to come. Those who attended can attest that this year’s Santacruzan is not a show of beauty and pomp but more of a united community engaged in a religious festivity.

Sister Lita would like to thank Makati Vice Mayor Kit Pena who provided the security, the donors and sponsors, the sagalas ,and their families, neighbors and friends, and all the pastoral sub-parishes and ministries for their whole hearted support .

The Holy Trinity

St. Andrew the Apostle Parish had their Kumpilang Bayan last Pentecost Sunday May 27, 2012. There were 59 participants among of which were 33 males and 26 females. Rev. Father Generoso Geronimo was the priest celebrant on the3:30pm.

The Christian doctrine of the Trinity defines God as three divine persons (Greek: ὑποστάσεις):[1] the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. The three persons are distinct yet coexist in unity, and are co-equal, co-eternal and consubstantial (Greek: ὁμοούσιοι). Put another way, the three persons of the Trinity are of one being (Greek: οὐσία).[2] The Trinity is considered to be a mystery of Christian faith.[3]
