Statement of purpose
Of the portfolio
Pre-service Training – Practice Teaching 2015
6
This practice teaching portfolio was prepared and developed to provide
and share experiences for those who will undergo the same undertakings. Some
classroom difficulties and problems that she had encountered are mentioned, and
the lesson that have learned. The greatest value of practice teaching portfolio is
that it serves as the mirror of the practice teacher for their progress so that they
can use it in relating their theories learned inside the classroom to become globally
competitive.
Another purpose of this practice teaching portfolio is that it assess the
pre-service teacher’s learning for the preparation in future life in facing the real
world of teaching. The pre-service teacher must always their best in imparting
knowledge to the students. Just love your students so in return students will be
embracing you too, with the great things you’ve done for them not only in cognitive
side but ineffective and psychomotor development.

Prayer of the Pre-Service Teacher
Help me to be a fine teacher, to keep peace in the classroom,
Peace between my students and myself, to be kind and gentle
to each and every one of my students.
Help me to be merciful to my students, to balance mercy and
discipline in the right measure for each student, to give genuine praise
as much as possible, to give constructive criticism in a manner
That is palatable to my students.
Help me remain conscientious enough to keep my lessons
always interesting, to recognize what motivates each of my students,
to accept my student’s limitations and not hold it against them.
Help me not to judge my students too harshly, to be fair to all,
To be a good role model, but most of all Lord, help me to show
your love to my students.
Amen.

Teacher’s creed
I am an agricultural educator by choice and not by chance.
I believe in American agriculture; I dedicate my life to its
development and the advancement of its people.
I will strive to set before my students by my deeds and actions
the highest standards of citizenship for the community, state and nation.
I will endeavor to develop professionally
through study, travel and exploration.
I will not knowingly wrong my fellow teachers.
I will defend them as far as honesty will permit.
I will work for the advancement of agricultural education
and I will defend it in my community, state and nation.
I realize that I am a part of the school system. I will work in harmony
with school authorities and other teachers of the school.
My love for youth will spur me on to impart something from my life
that will help make for each of my students
a full and happy future.
Pre-service Training – Practice Teaching 2015

Teacher’s philosophy of education
I believe that education is an individual, unique experience for every student who enters a
classroom. In order for children to benefit from what schools offer, I think that teachers must
fully understand the importance of their job. First, I believe that teachers must consider teaching
to be a lifestyle, not a mere forty-hour-a-week job, because a teacher's goals for his/her students
encompass much more than relaying out-of-context facts to passive students.
As professionals entrusted with the education of young minds, teachers must facilitate
learning and growth academically, personally, and ethically. By providing a quality education to
each individual in one's classroom, a teacher equips children with the tools necessary for success
in life.
In order to accomplish these lofty goals, I think it is important first to establish a
mutually respectful, honest rapport with students, a relationship in which communication is of
the highest priority. Through this relationship, a fair, democratic environment based on trust and
caring can be established in the classroom, making it possible to interact confidently and safely
in an academic setting.
Once this foundation is established, the educator has already accomplished a major goal:
the ethical characteristics of equality; open, honest communication; and trust have been
emphasized and put into practice without having to preach to students. Demonstrating these
ethically correct behaviors in the classroom and expecting students to model them prepares them
for adult interaction and survival in the future.

experience
Pre-service Training – Practice Teaching 2015
16
I come to education later in life and with a passion. Teaching is no small
undertaking, but I am confident that I will remain dedicated, excited, and
energetic. I have several advantages. This is not a career for me; I have already
had one of those. It is a calling. It is what I was born to do and I have no doubt in
that regard. I am neither wide-eyed nor innocent.
I have been in organizations for most of my life and I understand their
functioning. I know of the resource scarcity, the time scarcity, and the often
indifferent or even hostile forces thwarting excellence. I know it is not about me
and, in an important way, it is not about any given child. My job is to do the best I
can do under the circumstances. I can and will do that. I have had a lifetime of
doing things that did not matter except in the ego-driven context of late-
20th century America. This matters and I will not fail or quit.
During my experiences in Practice Teaching, I have learned about learning
styles. I have learned about developmental stages.
I will be ready to bring my passion to whatever opportunities I am given. I
am excited by the learning opportunities that await me and I am grateful for the
chance to make the lives of a few children just a tad bit better.

Maligaya High School, formerly Lagro High School Maligaya Park Annex, stands as a
landmark of the government’s concern for the welfare and progress of the people. It is a
symbol of government’s commitment to make education accessible to all.
Based on transfer Certificate of title Numbered RT (149905) and RT 89086 (144907)
issued by the Register of Deeds of Quezon City, Metro Manila Philippines, this parcel of
the land where MHS rose was donated by the Biyaya Corporation represented by its
General Manager, Mr. Paul Sysip to the Quezon City government represented by Hon.
Ismael A. Matay, Jr.
The said parcel of land consists of 19,169 sq. meters more or less and located at the
heart ofMaligaya Subdivision where a two-story building with six (6) classrooms caters
to the students living within the community and its adjacent subdivisions.
The building was blessed and formally turned over to the Division of City Schools
represented by Dr. Alma Bella O. Bautista, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent on
July 3, 1992.
The people who worked hard for the construction of this building were the following:
Congressman Dante Liban, Atty. GodofredoLiban II, Barangay Captain of Brgy. Pasong
putik, and Mr. RomyMallari.
The school formally opened in June 1992 and was granted independence in 2003.
Now, MHS in gaining emerging success from increased populations, installed physical
improvement, acquired active participation of stakeholders and marked academic
progress.
With school’s mission and vision, Maligaya High School embraces a strong commitment
to offer best quality education for the welfare of the Filipino learners who shall meet
common aspirations in the service of God and country.
