FertiDozer The FertiDozer is a non controlled fertigation machine. It consists of: The Fertilizer pumps are not equipped with the electric fertilizer valve. Two Fertilizer Pumps: one of 1200 L/H and the other (for acid) of 160 L/H. The injection of fertilizer is constant according to the setting made by the operator. Main Line Pressure: Up to 4 bars. (Higher pressure models are available via special order.) Shahak The Shahak like the FertiGal, is a direct injection in-line fertigation machine. It differs from the other machines by its direct injection Electric Fertilizer Pumps instead of the venturi pumps and a booster. The electric pumps simply start and stop frequently according to the controller commands. The Models: 1. 1” : up to 10 cubic meters per hour, 160 liters per hour, electric fertilizer pumps. 2. 2” : up to 25 cubic meters per hour, 300 liters per hour, electric fertilizer pumps. 3. 3” : up to 50 cubic meters per hour, 640 liters per hour, electric fertilizer pumps. Pressure: up to 5 Bars. All the models can have up to 8 electric fertilizer pumps. Additional Components: (All of the components vary in size according to the machine model). Water Meter with an electric pulse connected to the controller. Hydraulic Main Pressure Reducing Valve: Installed at the inlet of the machine. It can be regulated to maintain the desired pressure. Main Tubing (Manifold): According to the size of the machine. Filter: Installed in the outlet of the machine. Serves as a secondary filter as well as assisting in mixing the fertilizer with the water. The Shahak does not have a Booster Pump. FertiGal The FertiGal is a direct injection in-line fertigation machine. The Models: 1. Mini FertiGal: A compact up to 4 fertilizer pump 2” machine. It can deliver up to 25 cubic meters per hour. 2. FertiGal 1” – up to 10 cubic meters per hour. 3. FertiGal 2” – up to 25 cubic meters per hour. 4. FertiGal 3” – up to 50 cubic meters per hour 5. FertiGal 4” – up to 100 cubic meters per hour. 6. FertiGal 6” – up to 200 cubic meters per hour. Pressure up to 4.5 Bars. (Higher pressure models are available via special order) All of the models can be equipped with up to 8 Fertilizer pumps (350 L/H). Fertigation Machines

Galcon’s unique Fertigation Machines are devices for mixing fertilizer in theirrigation water. The fertilizer is injected to the pressurized water system via venturi pumps. Up to 8 channels of fertilizer injection can be employed together.

FertiGalFertiMix

FertiJet

FertiJetThe FertiJet is a direct injection by-pass fertigation machines. The main tubing with it’s Main Valve, Water Meter, Filter etc. are not included in the FertiJet.

A system that includes a sampling cell with two electrodes EC and pH, that are connected to an electronic monitor. The monitor converts the electrodes signal to a standard 4-20 mA signal read by the Galileo Controller. The Monitor is equipped with a display and a keyboard enabling the constant and clear presentation of the readings during operation. The monitor also serves for calibration of the electrode readings.

The ECpH System

The Green House cultivation applies hydroponics irrigation whereby plants grow in a substrate (soil-less). In these conditions the plants must receive all of the nutrients at a specific EC (electric conductivity) and pH (acidity) level. Therefore it requires that the fertigation will be carried out according to the EC/pH of the irrigation water. Another advantage of irrigation according to ECpH control is the ability to maintain the desired concentration of the fertilizer in the water regardless of preparation error, material chemistry construction etc.

Background

The Galileo controller, Galcon Ag’s main line of products, controls both the irriga-tion system and the fertigation machine together thus synchronizing their operation and providing a great deal of operation flexibility.

Hardware• Connections The Galileo’s hardware includes Outputs, Inputs and Analogs that are connected (in the factory) to all of the machine’s elements. In addition the controller is connected to the field’s valves, the green house’s elements and other components for full control of the system.• Operation The control program can be accessed directly from the keyboard or via an external PC computer connected to the Controller via direct line, cellular or radio.

Software The Galileo software is a user friendly easily accessed program for programming monitoring, data acquisition and more. The features concerning fertigation are:• Definitions The fertigation components are defined in the Galileo. • The type of fertilizer is defined for each fertilizer pump. • The type of the pump such as Electronic, Electric, Venturi or by-pulse. • Many other parameters concerning the behavior of the machine are easily defined.• The Fertigation Programs Up to 50 different fertilizer program can be setup in the Galileo. Each of the programs contains: amount or proportion of the fertilizer for every injection channel (up to 8), EC and pH requirement, water before fertilizer and after fertilizer, fertilizer selectors and even the use of mixing junctions.

Galileo Controller

FertiMixThe FertiMix is a Machine that includes a Mixing Tank.The Models:1. Fertimix 1” - up to 9 Cubic meters per hour. – 100 liter tank2. Fertimix 2” - up to 25 cubic meters per hour. – 250 liter tank3. Fertimix 3” – up to 35 cubic meters per hour – 500 liter tank4. Fertimix 3” High Flow – up to 60 cubic meters per hour. 1000 liter tank.• Inlet Pressure: Higher then 2.5 bars. Outlet Pressure: up to 4.5 Bars.• All the models can be equipped with up to 8 Fertilizer pumps (350 L/H).• Additional Components: • Water Meter with an electric pulse connected to the controller. • Hydraulic Inlet and Outlet valves. • A Float to balance the water inlet into the tank with the outlet onto the field. • A triple purpose Electric Pump supplying: Fertilizer suction, pressure for the irrigation and mixing power. • Water Temperature Sensor: to prevent the water boiling in the case of low flow rate. (Installed in the large models).

• The Irrigation Programs Up to 200 Irrigation Program can be setup in the Galileo each containing: up to 50 irrigation valves, Irrigation according to Time or Volume, the required preset Fertigation program, up to 5 start times in a day, Cyclic operation with intervals from 1 Sec. to 24 hours and many more options. • The Drainage Programs Installing the optional drainage sampling system DAGAN enables measurement of the amount, EC and pH of the draining water by the Galileo for information and automatic correction of the next irrigation.

Booster PumpAn electric stainless steel (non corrosive) pump, ranging from 2 HP up to 25 HP – depending on the type and size of the machine. The booster pump causes the high speed flow through the Venturi thus enabling the suction of the fertilizer. In the Fertimix it also builds up the pressure of the irrigation water.• Electric Pressure Stat – to prevent operation in the electric pump in “No Water” conditions.• A Pressure Sustaining Valve to prevent cavity in the Electric Pump.• Level Sensor for automation and information.

Types of machineThere are five types of machines:• FertiMix: a mixing machine with a mixing tank + Galileo Controller + ECpH control.• FertiGal: an inline mixing machine with direct injection (without a mixing tank) + Galileo Controller + ECpH control.• FertiJet: a by-pass mixing machine with direct injection + Galileo indent + ECpH control.• FertiDozer: a by-pass mixing machine with no controller and ECpH indent.• Shahak: an inline mixing machine with electric injection pumps (without a mixing tank) + Galileo Controller + ECpH control.

Venturi PumpThis “T” shape device converts the speed of the water into suction and causes the fertilizer to mix in the water. Two models are available:• Standard model – 350 liter per hour.• High flow modes – 1200 L/H

The venturi pump contains:• Venturi body: a “T” shape body with a unique nozzle inside.• Electric valves: Installed on the entrance of the Venturi body it can be either fully open or closed. It is connected to the controller and is controlled by it. The controller calculates the required injection rate and operates the solenoid accordingly. Its changing rate is normally 1-2 second working time and about the same pausing time.• Flow Meter: A transparent conic tube with a ball inside. The ball rises according to the momentary flow rate of the fertilizer. It is equipped with a small valve for adjustment of the flow rate.• The Fertimeter: (optional): A fertilizer meter that sends pulses to the controller thus ena bling fertilization according to volume.• Hydraulic Normally Closed Valve: To prevent the leakage of fertilizer into the empty line while the system is idle.

The Machine ComponentsThe structure of all machines types include • Aluminum Frame: Strong, modular, non corrosive.• Piping and Fittings: PVC non corrosive piping installation.• Electric Table: All of the necessary connections to be ready for use including starter for the booster pump.
