“Francesinha” story “Francesinha” was created in OPorto and was

invented in the sixties by a returned emigrant from France, Daniel David Silva, an employee at

Restaurant “A Regaleira”. This former emigrant decided to modify a typical French toast called "Croque-monsieur”. He adapted the dish to the

typical ingredients of our culture, adding a ‘secret’ sauce that is appreciated by those who taste this

dish.
