From the Co-Chairman’s Desk Dear Friends, Heartiest Greetings !!!!! A high quality skilled workers is need of the industry. The country is currently facing challenge of paucity of skilled manpower as well as non-employability of large sections of workforce that possess little or no job skills. Here the role of the FFSC is important for providing these skilled high quality workforce to the industry who can employ them. Hettich India has joined FFSC in this venture of opening Model Centre. I am happy to announce that Hettich India Pvt Ltd and Mr. Saroj Poddar Group have set up an iconic centre for Furniture & Fittings domain named as Hettich Poddar Woodworking Institute. The centre is equipped with all the modern machineries required for the training. The centre will encourage more young people to get trained in modern wood

working skills. The institute will also train and develop a set of good trainers. In this, German woodworking experts will be involved in imparting training and finalising the course content. Trainers from industries that complement the wood working industry will also be involved in the training of trainer sessions to make the technical knowledge of the trainers wholesome. State of the art institute’s like Hettich Poddar Woodworking Institute (HPWWI) will help in generating excitement to learn new and more modern techniques about working and thus help in bridging the demand supply gap by making available the employable and skilled manpower to the woodworking industry. We need an ecosystem that supports reduction of wage loss by making people to come, learn and upgrade their skillset and also provide some support in a form of stipend to be paid to the candidate such that he can cover his boarding lodging expenses when he is learning away from his home, it will help in bringing more people to train in advanced training setups. It’s an enormous task to channelize the youth today both in rural and urban area. The Institute helps in skilling the people and helping them getting gainful employment in the industry. Best Regards, Anil Goel
