YOUTH SUNDAY! Sunday morning, March 6, will be Youth Sunday. Our youth will be lead-ing out in the morning worship service. I am so excited for this day and I hope that you will make every effort to be here to be led in worship by our Student Worship band and support all the youth who will be helping out during the service. This service will be a fund raiser to help raise money for our annual Summer Camp! We will take up a special love of-fering following the service, so please bring your cash and checks to help out our student ministry!

SUMMER JAM: Students and par-ents, registration is underway and you can sign up at the front desk in the Grand Hall. Camp dates: June 510. Deposit due at registration: $75. Total cost: $275.

Its hard to believe that we are already in the month of Easter. Easter is a declaration for Chris-tianity! It is because of Easter that sets us apart from all other world religions. You see, when Jesus came out of that tomb, He proved that He was who He said that He was. He was not a liar or a lunatic, but He was LORD!

    Happy Easter!

Brandon, Amanda, Noah, Gra-ham, and Quinn

TO MILAN with LOVE: Our To Milan with Love outreach event was a huge success. Thank you so much for all of your help. We were able to deliver 28 trays of delicious treats to those who serve our community.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: We are making plans for an exciting week of VBS. VBS will be June 6-10 from 9:00a.m. to 12 noon each day. Please take a minute and stop by the display in the FLC and write down where you would prefer to serve in VBS, or call the church office and let me know. I need to know who will be available.

NYC FAMILY MISSION TEAM: Please be in prayer for our NYC Mission Team that will be serving March 24-31 with Connection Church in Astoria, Queens, New York. Team members are Michael, Niki, Sager & Sadie Glyn Allen; Jeni & Jaclyn Moore; Dana & Sarah Rainey; Todd, Kellye & Tatum Sheppard; Carrie Crossett & Rhonda Gateley.

Thank you, Jesus, for your greatest love. We love you because you first loved us. You are the light and love of the whole world! Many experiences of love and encouragement were shared last month at our meetings. These gifts go on and on and on as we share with others. We go in obedience as You speak to us. We heard a great testimony from a local volunteer in Faith Works Mission to Honduras. Bro. Jeff Keel from Atwood guided our thoughts and prayers to the needs of the impoverished people of Honduras. There are needs for any-thing and everything that we can gather to pack a cargo shipping container to be delivered there sometime in May. All items can be brought to the atten-tion of WMU to be picked up here at FBC (childrens clothing, black shoes up to size 10, linens, towels, hygiene products, hosiery, pot & pans, underwear, etc.) May God bless in this giving! Praying for New York Mission Team and Ethiopia Mission field workers! *Tennessee State Women on Missions Convention in Gatlinburg on April 8-10. Wait for further registration info! You are so welcomed to join a mission study group of your choice. Mann/Harper Mission Group - Tuesday, March 8, at 10:00 a.m. at FBC Myrtice Owens - Monday, March 14, at 6:30 p.m. at FBC

The Golden Agers met on February 11 for their monthly meeting. Singer/songwriter Art Wheeler of Jackson, Tennessee provided an en-tertaining program, and we enjoyed our add-a-dish lunch. The March meeting will be held on Thursday, March 10, at 10:30 a.m. at FBC. All senior adults are invited to join us.

We are planning a trip to Oakland Baptist Church in Corinth, Mississippi, on March 25 to see their Easter Pageant. The bus will leave FBC at 2:30 p.m., and we will eat at the Dinner Bell Restaurant, then see the 7:00 p.m. performance. If you would like to go, please sign the list on the FLC bulletin board.

    PASTOR S PEN

Today, I am thinking about the lo-cal church, and in particular, this local church. I am proud to be a member of First Baptist Church, Milan, Ten-nessee!

Every believer belongs to the univer-sal body of Christ. It is also important for the believer to belong to the lo-cal body of Christ (the local church). When a person is saved, he/she should join together with the other believers in his locality (assuming there is a good church there). According to Acts chap-ter two, we assemble together to study the Word, for fellowship, to share in the Lords Supper and for prayer.

Local church membership means three things:1. Identification - By becoming a member of a church you are identify-ing with a group of believers and you are becoming part of the team. You are saying, I want everyone to know that I believe what this church believes, and this church believes what God says in the Bible.2. Commitment - Sadly, we are living in a day when very few people are com-mitted to much of anything. When a person becomes a member of a local church he is saying, I am a part of this church and therefore I am committed to it. As a church member I have cer-tain responsibilities that I must faith-fully carry out!3. Service - A healthy member is a serving member. They come to church not only to get, but to give!

You are at FBC Milan for a reason. My prayer is that we will all bloom where we are planted! That we will be church members that are actually committed to serve our Savior!

    Proud to be your pastor!

We are all afraid of something. There are common fears like the fear of heights (altophobia), the fear of spiders (arachnaphobia), or the fear of clowns (coulrophobia). There are also some more rare fears such as the fear of teenagers (ephebiphobia), fear of dust (ama-thophobia) and fear of thinking (phronemophobia). So whether you have a fear of school (scoli-onophobia) or a fear of the moon (selenophobia), you can know that you are in good company because we all fear something. The prob-lem is that most people share some of the same fears about life.Starting on Sunday, March 13, we will begin our new Sunday Night Life groups. We are all going to be walking through a great study by Dr. David Jeremiah called What are You Afraid Of? In the six weeks of this study, we will con-front 5 major fears that adults to-day face:

The Fear of FailureThe Fear of Mental Breakdown

The Fear of Being AloneThe Fear of Serious Illness

The Fear of Dying Whether these are real fears that you face or not, this study will help prepare you to face these fears and be able to help those who do struggle with these issues. Finally, on the last week of April as we con-clude the study, we will talk about The Fear of God, which is a fear we are supposed to have. We will take time to explore what having a healthy fear of God is. I hope you are marking these six weeks on your calendar now and planning to join one of our small groups on Sunday nights at 5:15.
