RNAL EXTERNAL DMZ POWER STATUS FORTIGATE Implementation of Fortigate Firewall (Basic Configuration) 1. Ask the Customer to Open the Box. 2. Before configuring the fortigate, ask the customer to provide the following details which are mentioned in the attached document. And fill all the details. 3. Connect the power cable to the box and switch on the power plug. 4. Connect the Ethernet cable from Fortigate LAN port to system NIC 5. Give the system IP to 192.168.1.100. Subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 and Gateway is 192.168.1.99. 6. Ping the 192.168.1.99 from the system (if not pinging then check the connectivity). 7. Open the browser and type “https://192.168.1.99 8. Fortigate login page will open, type the username = “admin”, password = “by default there is no password set”. 9. By default status page will open, Note down the serial no. of the fortigate. Register the Fortigate 1. Open the browser and type www.fortinet.com 2. click on support and click the new registration button(present in right side panel) 3. Provided the information, mention in the datasheet. Click ok.

Implementation of Fortigate Firewall (Basic Configuration)

1. Ask the Customer to Open the Box. 2. Before configuring the fortigate, ask the customer to provide the following details which

Register the Fortigate

1. Open the browser and type www.fortinet.com 2. click on support and click the new registration button(present in right side panel) 3. Provided the information, mention in the datasheet. Click ok.

To Configure Interfaces

1. Go to System > Network > Interface.

2. Select the Edit Icon (last Icon of the Policy) for each interface to configure.

Cick on OK 3. Set the addressing mode for the interface.

• For manual addressing, enter the IP address and sub-netmask for the interface. • For DHCP addressing, select DHCP and any required settings. • For PPPoE addressing, select PPPoE, and enter the username and password. • Enable the Ping Server. • Click OK.

4. Go to System > Network > Options, enter the Primary and Secondary DNS IP addresses that you recorded in datasheet.

Click on Apply

Configure a Route / Default Gateway Go to Router > Static and select Edit Icon (last Icon of the Policy) for the static route. Set Gateway to the Default Gateway IP address, you recorded in datasheet and select OK.

Create the Policy

By default LAN to Wan policy is created, so no need to create the policy for implementation.

If LAN to WAN policy is not created, then click on Create New Policy option. Create the policy like this specification (only for implementation purpose).

Click on OK

Change the Administrator Password Go to System > Admin > Administrators. Select Edit icon for the admin administrator and enter a new password.

Then connect the ISP cable to WAN Interface/Port 2 and LAN cable to LAN Interface/Port 1. 

[Configure and connect the fortigate depends up on their network and customer requirement.]
