Meeting, sponsored by District IV, to learn about and discuss “Charting
the Course” in the healthcare engineering field.
This meeting will feature speakers and topics who will address how
experts respond to emergencies; power monitoring for hospitals; keys to
streamlining emergency responsiveness and keys to achieving
compliance – all especially important topics after experiencing several
hurricanes in Florida in the last two years. The conference will end with a
presentation on evaluating the security risks of the modern patient
experience. Besides interactive discussions, you will have the opportunity
to network with other healthcare engineering professionals and meet
industry suppliers.

Sign up on the registration form if you’d like to play. The tournament is free for
healthcare engineer members. More information will be posted on the FHEA

7:30 AM FHEA Fishing Tournament
Join fellow anglers for a “nearshore” fishing tournament. The boats depart from
the Pier 66 Marina dock at 8:00 AM and return by 12:00 PM. The fishing
tournament is free for healthcare engineers. Space is limited, so sign up on the
registration form to participate. You will want to bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a
hat, camera, and light jacket. All fishing gear is provided.

The FHEA has reserved 6 boats, with a limit of 36
anglers, so sign up early.
On this 4 hour private sportfishing trip, you’ll
experience big game fishing at it’s finest. Once leav-
ing the marina, you will be at the fishing grounds
quickly, giving you the most fishing time out of the
fleet. We will be trolling, kite fishing,
live-baiting, wreck fishing, and much more.
Target Fishing will be for the Big Game Species:
Mahi, Sailfish, Tuna, Kingfish, Wahoo, Bonita, White
Marlin, and Sharks.

Association (FHA) in launching the Hospital
Sustainability Collaborative. Hospitals
increasingly are looking for ways to improve
efficiency and reduce overall costs while
also improving the overall patient
experience. One often overlooked
opportunity is sustainability. Making an
active commitment to sustainability and aggressively pursuing
goals provides multiple strategic benefits that can help healthcare
facilities thrive.
The FHEA & FHA are committed to supporting members to launch
or improve their sustainability programs. Learn more about this
initiative by attending the FHEA Spring Meeting. The program will
be offered on May 16 at 2:30 pm.

The closest airport to the Pier 66 Hotel & Marina is Fort Lauderdale International Airport,
located approximately 15 minutes away and serviced by all major airlines. There are several
shuttle services as well as rental car companies located at the airport.
Self-parking at the hotel has been reduced to $20.00 per day for overnight guests. Valet
parking is also available for additional fees.
