PrODUCT DeSCrIPTIONDermaCOTe is a solvent based bituminous coating formulated from pliable bitumen and a petroleum solvent, compounded with cellulose fibres, gelling/wetting agents, stabilizers and mineral stabilizers, to strenghten the liquid bitumen to form a tough and elastic surface. Once cured DermaCOTe will not crack when subjected to the extremes of summer and winter conditions. DermaCOTe special formulation ensures bondability and workability and is capable of withstanding the normal stresses associated with the expansion and contraction of all roofing systems.

PrINCIPaL aPPLICaTIONS DermaCOTe is most suitable for use as a coating for built up roofing systems, metal roofs, exterior foundation walls and concrete decks. Also recommended for the maintenance of old bituminous roofs. DermaCOTe can be used in exposed conditions. DermaCOTe complies with: aSTm D 4479 TYPe II.

aPPLICaTION (User’s Guide) The surface to be coated must be free from dirt, debris and scale and should be thoroughly dry. Rough concrete surfaces and brittle asphalt should be given a coat of DermaPrImer prior to application. NOTE: The DermaPrImer should be cured (Tack free) before application of DermaCOTe. Application is by brush, squeegee or airless spray. Apply the DermaCOTe to the prepared surface as per the coverage rate. Do not over-apply, as doing so will increase the curing time. DermaCOTe is designed as a one coat application. However, if desired, a two coat system can be used by halving the recommended coverage rate L/m2 detailed overleaf. Allow curing (Touch Dry) before applying second coat.

PaCKING DermaCOTe comes in 5L cans, 20L pails and 200L drums.

HeaLTH & SaFeTY As with all chemical products, care should be taken during use and storage. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, mouth and foodstuffs. If accidentally ingested immediately seek prompt qualified medical attention. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Give copious amounts of water to drink. Keep this product out of the reach of children and pets. Reseal all containers after use. Protective clothing and eye protection MUST be worn.

STOraGe LIFe Varies with product and climatic conditions but is usually in excess of twelve months. Keep out of direct sunlight. Clean brushes/rollers with white spirit or paraffin after use, or discard safely.
