On Sunday Sep 25th Palm Beach Council members joined up for a field trip to the Miami Dolphins home opener in their newly revamped Hardrock Stadium. Thanks Charles Zambrano for serving as bus coordinator and Steve Wiggins for serving as liaison with the Dolphins office. We once again used the Academy charter bus company, and they provided us with 1 st class bus and first class driver, Maggie. Thank you to John Clark and Elizabeth Leonetti for contributing their extra tickets to add to our tip for Maggie. And thanks to Council President Ken Lee for once again employing his bartender skills and bringing along a welcome batch of Bloody Marys and Salty Dogs to ease the bus travels. They would have come in handy if the Dolphins had lost the game, but they didnt lose!! ……………….. Dolphins 30 Browns 24 in an exciting overtime game. • The stadium is beautiful with its new rolling roof and the 4 incredibly large video screens for viewing live and replay action. For the national anthem they unfurled a 100-yd American flag. This picture was snapped from our seats in the top row …. a taxing stair-climb but a good view of everything.

Not visible in this photo, but Dolphin MVP Jarvis Landry No. 14 took a place in the crew holding and waving the flag. He then went on to score a touchdown and make key plays that set up the game-winner in overtime.

With 6 seats unsold we were joined on the trip by our Youth Coordinator Nancy Fish and AmVets Sea Cadets Instructor Keith Morin and Cadets Ethan Spell, Thomas Strickland, Keith Morin Jr and Ryan Myers. All in all – a fun Navy League day!
