He is a former member of the Commission for Lawyer Discipline. ® Certification MattersTBLS will also recognize this year’s Tom Garner Award recipient, Judge Dean Rucker, Board Certified in Family Law since 1988. Judge Rucker is a founding member of the TBLS Child Welfare Law Advisory Commission and was instrumental in the creation of this new specialty for 2018. He serves as the Presiding Judge of the Seventh Administrative Judicial Region of Texas and is also the Senior District Judge of the 318th Family District Court and sitting by assignment.
Justice Phil W. Johnson, Supreme Court of Texas, will administer the Oath this year.
In addition, Pierpont Communication’s Account Supervisor and media specialist, Sylvester Palacios, Jr., will be sharing best practices in PR and marketing for new Board Certified attorneys.
