We are in the last weeks of the 2015 Bishop’s Annual Appeal. We want to thank everyone that has sup-ported this important cause. St. Brigid of Kildare par-ish has always been overwhelmingly generous to the Bishop’s Annual Appeal. It has become a concrete way we can become involved with the thousands in our diocese and share with them what we have.

We are currently $25,000 shy of our $253,000 goal. Please consider a gift to help us make our goal and aid those in our Diocese that are in need of our help. We would like to have 100% participation from our parish

To donate please use one of the pledge cards provided in the pews and place them in the offertory baskets or return them to the parish office. Remember that any-thing pledged above our goal is returned 100% to our parish. No gift is too small. Thank you.

“Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.”

- Proverbs 19:17

The Social Action Committee is sponsoring our sandwich-making activity, open to the whole family. Come join us at our summer location, Hendricks Hall, Saturday, July 18 at 9:00 am.

Dave Callahan & Colleen Day will marry at St. Brigid on July 18, 2015.

When you come to Mass check the 2015 Recommissioning

Book in the kitchenette. Find your name and follow the di-rections on the first page to indicate your wishes. Thank you for your service. I sincerely hope you will all reenlist!

Ladies, are you looking to deepen your knowledge of our Catholic Faith and form bonds with women in a comforting, en-riching, respectful and safe forum to grow personally and spiritually? The Little

Rock Scripture Series for Women provides just that environ-ment to nurture friendships and bonds while we grow in our understanding of Catholicism.

The group follows the Little Rock Scripture with each course based on four main elements: daily personal study (the time you spend to read and reflect on Scripture), a small group meeting, a short, explanatory video, and conversational prayer.

Together the women seek answers, ponder Scripture and translate the Bible’s messages into their own lives. As we all aspire to become better instruments of God, it’s a wonderful way to deepen your faith and create special bonds with new friends.

The group meets on Thursdays from 10-12 pm and 1-2:45 pm., beginning August 27th. The studies planned for the 2015-16 year are: Introduction to the Bible, Spirituality of Paul, Psalms I & II, Pilgrim People and Infancy Narratives.

The group is hoping to add a new segment of the group, open to both men and women, which would meet on Monday eve-nings and would be facilitated by Sister Teresa.

“St. Brigid's Women's Bible Study saved me when I moved

here from a place I called home. I knew no one. I had left a

business that I loved, and I was starting over. I saw Claudia's

post in the bulletin and thought this might be what I need. I

had no idea how it would transform me and help me to grow

as a spiritual person and to accept change in a way I never

thought I could. The women of this group have become my

Sisters in Christ. Each new woman that comes into the study

is embraced just as I was. Please join, and experience first

hand the spiritual gifts one receives from gaining knowledge

of God's word.” -Melanie Hanson

“The Bible Study has helped me with a deeper prayer life, a

greater understanding of my faith, an abundance of peace

and love for others. I have also found that I cannot continue

in building a strong personal faith without the immersion of

prayer, study and sharing of myself on a regular basis.” -Irma Ueber

To learn more about the Women’s Bible Study group, please

contact Claudia Gomez at [email protected] or 266-7057.
