Summit Co-chair

For five years, Clemson University has hosted the Men of Color National Summit with the goal of bridging theopportunity gap for African-American and Latino young men. In 2022, we’re proud to celebrate half a decade ofhosting dynamic keynote speakers and engaging breakout sessions, facilitating life-changing relationships andnetworking opportunities by bringing together high school and college students and business and communityleaders from around the country.

The two-day summit, presented by the University’s Division of Inclusion and Equity, has been made possible by sponsors such as the The Boeing Company and Ally Financial, who have recognized the critical need for this initiative in Upstate South Carolina. Since March 2020, students have experienced interrupted school schedules and less face-to-face time due to the challenges of the global pandemic, as well as heightened racial tensions. These tumultuous times for our students make the need for collectively empowering young men of color especially urgent.

Join us by supporting the work of Clemson University, as we help prepare our next generation of community leaders by building bridges and creating clearer pathways to higher education. We look forward to another sold-out event and to celebrating five years of tremendous work by Clemson University and our community partners.

CLEMSON UNIVERSITY MEN OF COLOR NATIONAL SUMMIT

Tiger Alliance is Clemson University’s bold step to help empower, enlighten, and develop African-American and Latino young men by emphasizing the importance of education and sharing best practices to increase high school and college graduation rates. High school students from across the Upstate of South Carolina are selected to participate in the Tiger Alliance, with the Men of Color National Summit being the kick-off to the program each year. During the year, the Tiger Alliance participates in college fairs, mentoring relationships with current Clemson student ambassadors, college preparation sessions and college tours. These young men are the inspiration for the creation of the summit.
