Evangelization Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy Theme: Be Merciful Like the Father FIFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME - 7 TH FEBRUARY 2016 His Lordship Bishop Joseph Hii, Bishop Emeritus Dominic Su and all the Priests wish all Chinese Parishioners a Happy, Blessed & Prosperous Chinese New Year ! Monthly contribution / tithings: Parishioners may pledge their contributions using the brown envelopes provided (part C) and drop them into the collection bags or boxes. Do give generously. Except when Masses are celebrated in the Weekday Chapel, parishioners are requested not to use the two stairs of the Weekday Chapel to go into the Cathedral. They may be used for EXIT only. Please use the Main/Side Cathedral entrances. Thank you for your cooperation. The shorter version of the Prayer for the Year of Mercy will be recited during all Masses. For all other times and during pilgrimages, the full version shall be used. CHURCH CALENDAR: 8 Feb. Mon.: First Day of Chinese New Year . Mandarin Mass at 8:00am. Parishioners who bring their own oranges for blessing are kindly requested to keep them in front of or under their own seats but not on the seats. No Mass at 6:15am. but 5:30 pm Mass as usual. 10 Feb.Wed .: Ash Wednesday. A day of Fasting & Abstinence . Fasting compulsory for 18 to 59 years old; Abstinence from meat 14 years old and above. Mandarin Mass at 6:15am, English Mass at 5:30pm and Iban Mass at 7:30pm. Ashes will be distributed on that day’s Masses ONLY. 11 Feb. Thu.: Memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes. (World Day of the Sick). Combined Mass at 7:30pm in the Cathedral. Parishioners are encouraged to bring the sick and house-bound to this Mass. This celebration is not just for those who are sickly but also for those caring for the sick, the doctors and the nurses, etc. Let us come and pray with them and give them the moral & spiritual support. No Mass at 5:30pm. DURING THE SEASON OF LENT: The Adoration of the Body of Christ would be replaced by the Prayer of the Stations of the Cross on Friday. (No Holy Hour, but parishioners are strongly encouraged to perform personal adoration at other time. The Blessed Sacrament Chapel is opened everyday from 6:00am to 9:00pm) Mandarin - After 6:15am Mass. (daily at about 6:45am. accept on Sunday.) English - 5:30pm followed by Mass. Monthly contribution / tithings: Parishioners may pledge their contributions using the brown envelopes
