    Fifth Sunday of Lent

    April 7, 2019

  • OUR PARISH RECONCILIATION SERVICE IS:

    This Wednesday, April 10th, 2019

    at 7:00pm

COME JOIN US! This will be an evening to experience the

forgiving presence of God in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

The Lord knows that we are all halfway there and many times we need this, to hear these words: ‘Come, don’t be frightened, come. There is forgiveness.’

And this encourages us to go to the Lord with an open heart. It is the Father who awaits us.”

    -Pope Francis

  • Please Note:

There will be NO 8AM Mass on the following days: Thursday, April 18th; Friday, April 19th; Saturday, April 20th.

    Tues-Thurs April 23rd-25th

Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday are collectively known as The Triduum. These three days are the climax of the Church’s

year—the three days when we celebrate the promise and hope of the Last Supper, the disillusionment of Good Friday, and the glory of Easter.

Come Visit with Us, Come Be with Us, Come Pray with Us.

Holy Thursday April 18th: 7pm Mass of the Lord’s Supper

    Good Friday April 19th: 3pm

    Celebration of the Lord’s Passion

Holy Saturday April 20th: 8pm The Easter Vigil

Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord

    Sunday

April 21st, 2019 Masses will be celebrated at

    8:00am, 10:00am, and 12:00pm

Next Weekend is Palm Sunday, April 14th, Passion of the Lord Masses: Saturday, 5:00pm Sunday, 8:00am, 10:00am, 12:00pm

On April 19th, Good Friday, the Saint Angela Merici Parish Community will participate in the Pontifical Collection

    for the Holy Land.

Donation baskets will be placed in the library and

    the vestibule.

  • To date, we have raised $100,000!

    Saint Angela Merici AMA UPDATE

We are so close to our $110,00 goal, which will be matched by a

    generous donor.

As a Faith Formation Community, students, families, and

catechist in our Tuesday Youth and Sunday Teen Confirmation Classes have been collecting their spare change. In three short weeks, we’ve raised $500.00 IN ROLLABLE COIN AND CASH.

A huge thank you to all of you!

Remember, all of the monies donated will go to the St. Angela Merici Women’s Fund to help women in need in our parish.

Let’s keep going! With one more week to collect change,

let’s have a strong finish! -Jordan

Thank you to the 253/900 registered families who have helped support our AMA

    Fundraising!

If you have not yet contributed, please prayerfully consider what you might be

    able to give.

  • It’s Not Too Late....Mary’s Gardens Can Still Be Ordered! Must have Mary’s Gardens Orders in by next Sunday, April 14th! Each May, our third and fourth grade classes have created “Mary’s Gardens” to present to a special mom in our lives. The pots are lovingly hand painted and planted by the kiddos with

beautiful plants representing Our Blessed Mother. This year, you can have the opportunity to give one, too!

Place your order now by filling out the slip below and returning to the

Parish Office and we will have your Mary’s Garden ready for pick up after the Masses on the weekend of May 4th-5th. (Limited to the first 100 orders).

Any questions, please contact Nanci at [email protected] or 831-601-0188.

Yes! I’d like a Mary’s Garden made with love by 3rd/4th graders.

THE GOOD SHEPHERD Olivewood handcrafted from the Holy Land

A traditional Art and Livelihood for Holy Land Christians

The Olivewood carving industries has evolved as a cultural tradition of the Christians over many centuries.

Many Holy Land Christians in the Bethlehem area alone rely upon income generated from this art form. The items are carved by local craftsmen.

Many families are facing critical situations. Without income, many craftsmen and families leave their

traditional trade and emigrate with their families to find relief from the difficult conditions of their Homeland.

Christian presence in the Holy Land has extended from the first Pentecost to the present. Sixty years ago,

Christians represented more than 28% of the population and now represent less than 2%. The loss of Christians in the land of Christianity’s birth will represent a tragedy of immeasurable proportions for the

billions of Christians worldwide. Than you for your vital support for a Christian Tradition and in protecting this very important culture and industry.

On Palm Sunday—April 13th and 14th— after Mass, take some time

to browse these amazing olivewood creations and help to support our Christian brothers and sisters in the Holy Land.
