PASTOR’S PAGE

Dear Parishioners,

This is already the third Sunday in

which we have not celebrated the Eucharist

with the people of God. I know how difficult

this is for many of you, but Fr. Basso and I

ask that you continue to have faith and hope

that this moment will pass, for it will pass.

This Lent is truly a time of desert for many

of you, but rest assured of our presence and

prayers for all of you. Fr. Basso and I together with some volun-

teers are reaching out to all of you via phone (albeit finding out

that our record keeping is not the best and many phone numbers

are not up to date), to let you know that we are praying for you,

that we are available for confessions and the sacraments for the

sick. We are celebrating private funerals and private weddings.

Here are some of the initiatives that we would like to offer

to you. Starting this coming Sunday, the fifth Sunday of Lent, we

will offer the Mass livestreamed, and not just recorded. Starting

on Monday the 30

th

we will livestream Mass every morning at the

usual time of 7:30 am, followed by exposition of the Blessed sac-

rament and rosary. Please, understand that this is all new for us,

and not being a hightech Parish, we are amateurs doing this with

the help of some parishioners. It is also my intention to live

stream the Via Crucis (Way of the Cross) on Friday the 3

rd

of

April at 7 pm.

We will livestream all the Easter Triduum celebrations at the

following times:

Holy Thursday: Mass at 7:00 pm April 9, 2020

Good Friday: Mass at 3:00 pm April 10, 2020

Holy Saturday: Confessions from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm re-

specting the directives that only 10 people will be in the

church at once and remain 6 ft apart.

Easter Vigil: Mass at 9:00 pm April 11, 2020

Easter Sunday: Mass at 10:00 am April 12, 2020

Follow us using our webpage, we have everything up to

date: www.stlouiscatholicparish.org Enroll in Flocknote and you

will receive all the links to the Mass and other updated infor-

mation.

Finally, remember that we are still having confessions on

Saturday as usual at 3:30 pm; we only ask you to sit in the church

6ft apart and that we are not allowed to have more than 10 people

at a time inside the church. We are available for confessions by

appointment at any time.

Courage and hope are two wonderful virtues, like the Arch-

angel Gabriel told the virgin Mary on March 25, the Solemnity of

the Annunciation, “Mary do not be afraid, for the life that is in

you is of God”. Let us cherish in this time the divine life that God

has given us so that in times of fear and distress we may hear the

voice of God telling us, “do not be afraid, I am with you”, which

is the most important thing for a Christian, the certainty of the

love of God for each one of us.
