TOPIC: PREPARATION FOR GATE EXAMINATION

Inaugurals of Mechanical Engineering Department activities and welcome function to fresher’s of

both PG and UG was organised by MEA on 29th October 2018. Dr H V Ravindra, Principal, PESCE

was the chief guest. Dr H P Raju, HOD preside the function. Mr Nimish welcome the guests and

Mr Basavaraju, DS, MEA delivered vote of thanks. Cultural activities followed with the programme.

EVENT: TECHNICAL TALK

TOPIC: PREPARATION FOR GATE EXAMINATION

VENUE: TEQUIP HALL , MBA BLOCK

DATE: 27 September 2018

Keeping the essentiality of the GATE examination, Department of Mechanical Engineering conducted

a program on “PREPARATION FOR GATE EXAMINATION-2019” to induce the knowledge of

how to prepare for the exam.

Mr Sunil , Resource person, Dheenabhandu Trust , Chamarajanagara inspired the students for the

examination. Students also interacted with resource person and clarified the doubts and took the

guidance about the preparation. Dr Raju, HOD preside the function. Mr Srinivasa.M.R sec-MEA

welcomed and honoured the resource person. More than 100 students of Final year and Pre-final year

participated in the programme.

TOPIC: COMPUTER AIDED ENGINEERING DRAWING

VENUE: CAMA LAB, PESCE, Mandya-571401

DATE: 23-07-2018 TO 28-07-2018.

A technical talk is arranged by the Department of Mechanical Engineering Sciences (Mechanical,

Automobile, I&P Engg) from 23rd July 2018 to 28th July 2018 at CAMA Lab. The main aim of the

programme is to train up the faculties and students in Machine Design. The program was sponsored

by TEQIP-II. The faculties and students benefited by the program.

EVENT: TECHNICAL TALK

TOPIC: CATIA- Awareness programme.

VENUE: EC Seminar Hall

DATE: 03 October 2018

A technical talk is arranged by the Department of Mechanical Engineering on 03 October 2018 at EC

Seminar Hall. The aim of the program is to impart the knowledge of utilization of CATIA software.

Mr xaviour Paul, CEO, M/S Dassault Aviation Ltd , France delivered the lecture. The speaker focuses

on utilization of CATIA software in aviation system and signifies the developments in the systems.

Students from 6th semester were benefited by the talk. Mr. Sathish Nada, Team Lead-India, Dassault

Avaition Participated with speaker. Dr Raju HOD, welcome the speaker and Srinivas.M R Sec-MEA

delivered vote of thanks.

EVENT: SOCIAL AWARENESS PROGRAMME

TOPIC: VISIT TO OLD AGE HOME.

VENUE: JNANASINDHU OLD AGE HOME. HALAHALLI VILLAGE , MANDYA.

DATE: 18/11/2018.

With the view of inducing the knowledge about society and social events, a programme was

arranged by the department on 18th November 2018. The programme was clubbed with KANNADA

RAJYOTHSAVA. In order to have an interest about loving the parents in their old age, the

programme was conducted. Students of department work voluntarily in the home. Many needy goods

were donated to the beneficiaries. Head of the Dept, Dr H P Raju convey a message to the students

about the social responsibility, humanitarian and to take care of their parents and needy people in their

old age. Mr Srinivas, Sec, MEA also delivered a speech about Kannada Rajyothsava. All the student

class representatives and students participated in the event. Many news papers appreciated this event.

Mr Vijaya Kumar, Chief of JNANASINDHU OLD AGE HOUSE , Mr Suresh, Principal(Rtd)

also presented and guide the students.

TOPIC: APPLICATIONS AND RESEARCH PROSPECTS OF THERMODYNAMICS

VENUE: SEMINAR HALL, CRC BLOCK, PESCE, MANDYA

DATE: 16/02/2019

The technical talk is arranged on "Applications and Research Prospects of Thermodynamics" by

Dr. Mohan Krishna S.A, Professor, Dept of Mech Engg, VVCE, Mysuru. The programme was

arranged in association with Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers

(ISHRAE), Mysore Chapter. About 150 students of 6th semester attended the talk. Dr H P Raju HOD

ME Dept preside the function and Dr H V Ravindra , Principal, PESCE, Mandya was the chief guest.

Dr H V Ravindra explained about the facilities available by the TEQIP to prepare for competitive

examinations like GATE, UPSC etc., Mr Bharadwaj, President (ISHRAE) Mysore chapter and other

office bearers of ISHRAE were presented. Mr Nimish welcomed and Mr Srinivas M R secretary

(MEA) delivered the vote of thanks.

TOPIC: RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN WATER JET MACHINING

VENUE: SEMINAR HALL, CRC BLOCK, PESCE, MANDYA

The technical talk is arranged on “RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN WATER JET MACHINING “ by

Dr. S Srinivas, Professor, Dept of Mech Engg, B.M.S. College of Engineering, Benagaluru. About

150 students of 6th semester attended the talk. Dr T Nagaraju, Professor ME Dept preside the

function. The session was carried out from 10.30 am to 12.00 pm. Mr Nimish welcomed, Mr Omkar

introduced the guest and Mr Omkar delivered the vote of thanks.

EVENT: MOTIVATIONAL TALK

TOPIC: “SITUATION MANAGEMENT”

VENUE: NITHYA SACHIVA SHANKARA GOWDA TRAINING AND PLACEMENT

DATE: 26/04/2019.

A motivational talk is arranged by Mechanical Engineering Association on “SITUATION

MANAGEMENT”. The aim of the talk was to impart a skill of contingency management in the

industries and handling the challenging tasks. With the view of different kinds of situations the

resource persons from different field were invited.

1. Mr Thejasvi U P--- The resource person is alumni of the department for the year 2015-16.

Mr Thejasvi U P stood 366th rank in UPSC examinations for the year 2018-19. He explained

the students about the consequences to be faced while attending the examinations and

preparation for the personal interview and how answer are expected from the candidate by the

interviewing body. He motivated the students about the opportunities and challenges to be

faced in preparation to the civil service examinations.

2. M/s Kamalamma is a farmer who awarded “PADMASHREE” award from the Govt of India

and awarded as PRGRESSIVE farmer by the University of Agricultural Sciences , GKVK,

Bengaluru with very small area of land. She was invited with the view of imparting the

knowledge of money management. Being a challenging field of agriculture in the view of

profit making, M/s Kamalamma is making a profit of Rs 4Lakhs per year with a small area of

one acre. She explained how the financial consequences are to be handled and the how to

overcome the economical crisis in the agricultural industry. She motivated the students about

how to manage the financial crisis.

3. Mr Ravi is working as Captain (NAYAK) in Indian Army. He is working in Leh, J&K state.

He invited with the view of motivating the students about techniques used in army to handle

the critical situations in the war time and off war time. He explained beautifully about

sequencing and scheduling techniques used in Indian army which gave depth knowledge in

situation handling in industries. His correlating method was highly applauded by the students.

The programme is presided by Dr H P Raju, Head of the Dept, and Dr H V Ravindra was invited as

chief guest. Dr H V Ravindra also motivated the students to upgrade themselves for the present

industrial scenario and to learn the soft skills which are very important to get the jobs in noble

industries.

Dr H P Raju motivated the students to take part in the programs like soft skill development. He

signifies the importance of soft skills along with technical skills in the industry. Dr H P Raju

honoured the guests with memento. Mr Srinivasa. M R Asst Professor, Dept of Mech Engg and

secretary-MEA welcome the guests and Ms Kusumakshi, Ms Yashaswini and Mr Nimish Ujwal

introduced the guests to the gather. Mr Omkar delivered the vote of thanks. A working lunch was

arranged for the participants. More than 450 students from Mech Engg Dept participated in the event.
