We are going to read more of our book, Dragon Boy this week.
Success Criteria- I will write in full
sentences with capital letters and full stops.
- I will use my phonics to help spell my words.
- I will include detail to make my writing interesting.
- I will write with the reader in mind.
English WritingToday we are going to
write predictions about what will happen next in the story. When you make predictions you use what you already know from the book.
Have a look at the chapter pages on
Seesaw which show a little more of the story
as the boy grew up with the dragons.
Task:When you finish
reading the pages use what you know to write
English WritingToday we are going to
think about what Dragon Boy needs to
know now that he can make fire. Now that he has learnt how to make fire he needs to know
about the ways he should stay safe and
how fire can be dangerous. We are going to help him.
Task:Use the template
provided or your own design to create a
Safety Poster so Dragon
English WritingToday we are going to
look at the villagers from the book and how
they feel at different points of the story. See
below for key pages from the story, they
will be uploaded onto Seesaw.
After the fire that drove the villagers out of their homes their
village looked very different, this is the
picture for page 39 (this is a new page from the
book). What do you notice about the village?
English WritingUse Seesaw to read the pages from Chapter 5 and some more pages
from Chapter 6, including the image we
looked at yesterday. Today we are going to use our understanding of the villagers to write a letter to Dragon Boy. We know how they feel
so we are going to imagine we are one of them. What would our
letter include?
Task:Write a letter to Dragon
English WritingToday we are going to
read the end of the story.
Look at chapters 5, 6 and 7 on Seesaw. You
will see how the characters at the

end.

the author has chosen very carefully for their
Year 2 Timetable Week Beginning Monday 8th June 2020down what you think
will happen next. Remember to write in

Boy as a villager. Explain to him how much your life will
change now you have fire again. Talk about how getting fire from the stones is a better
way for you to have fire than the dragons, as it
is much safer. Modelled
Dear Dragon Boy, I am writing to tell you how grateful I am for your fire. My village was in darkness and now we have light. By using the stones we can get fire whenever we need it.

History
Today we are going to think about the job the people of London had to rebuild after London’s biggest fire. The King and his advisors knew that London had to be rebuilt but changes had to be made.
How should the buildings change as they are rebuilt? What improvements could be made?
What changes would you suggest to the King?
Choose 5 features of London that would need to be changed as it is re-built. For each feature explain what should happen as it is re-built and why. Modelled:
Year 2 Timetable Week Beginning Monday 8th June 2020Houses should not be made of wood. This burns too easily. They should be made of brick and stone so they will cope with any more fires in London.
