Filing a Transition Application on Societies OnlineA walkthrough of the filing process

Every non-profit society in British Columbia is required to “transition” under the new Societies Act by November 28, 2018. Transitioning involves filing an application in a new electronic system called Societies Online. These slides walk through the steps to file a transition application.
To get started, go to www.gov.bc.ca/SocietiesOnline
Login with your BCeID user ID & password
Click on “Access an Existing Society”
Look up your society
Look up your society
Enter the Registry Key for your society

On the “To Do List”: Transition your society
Click on the first transition task...
...to enter the society’s constitution
Enter name & purposes with no changes
...to enter the society’s constitution
Enter name & purposes with no changes
Indicate member-funded society status
...to enter the society’s constitution
Enter name & purposes with no changes
Indicate member-funded society status
...to enter the society’s constitution
Click “Save as Complete”
The first task is now completed

Click on the second transition task...
...to upload society’s consolidated bylaws in Word, RTF, PDF
Click the box if your society is amending its bylaws on transition

Click on the final transition task...

With all 3 transition tasks now completed, click on “Submit”
