FILM PITCH
By Katy Gopsill & Ellie De-Rome
INITIAL IDEAS
HORROR
In a park in the night. The swings
are moving on their own. Trees swaying in the strong wind.
Teenagers camping and one of them
goes missing.
In a haunted house. Use night vision
effects to create the illusion that the film
is being recorded by a person and you see their version of events as you follow the person around.
Class project – film it as if
it’s the characters
recording it.
FINAL IDEA Our final idea is to have a murder mystery horror which we will
say that it was based on a true story. The opening scene will be some teenagers camping in a field, drinking and doing drugs. Some of the girls tease one of their friends because she refuses to take some drugs. But one of the girls takes it too far and really upsets her, making her leave in anger. That is when she goes missing. The others feel very bad and panic when they find out she's missing. The rest of the teenagers will go looking for them then it will cut to the title of the film.
FILM IDEA
We decided to call the name of the film ‘The Camp’.
We will use point of view shots at the beginning of the film to make it look like there is a person prying on the group.
As well we will use creepy music to tell the audiences that it’s a horror film and create tension.
We will end the opening scene with a cliff-hanger, so that the audience wonder what’s happened to the girl, whether she’s still alive or been kidnapped or just collapsed.
CHARACTERS
There will be 6, 17 year old girls in the opening scene, all of which are camping, including the girl that goes missing. All of them are very close friends and they are all rebellious and not really scared of anything except for the one girl who goes missing.
INSPIRATION
We chose this idea as we think it would raise awareness of the result of drinking, drugs and bullying. Also it shows you what can happen if you stay in a field at night on your own when over intoxicated.
We visited some websites to learn more about teenage drinking and drug usage to help us incorporate it into our opening sequence if possible.
