My Film Pitch

Genre!Well my film is a hybrid of genres:

• Teen Film

• Comedy

• Children/ family’s

• Musical

TEEN FILM

Still about genre…..Then the plot

• The two main genres are teen film and Musical!

So the reason I decided to mix these two together is because there are a lot of highly rated movies under both genres.

• My film plot:

A teen girl from Connecticut is destined to prove she can make her dreams come true out in the city of lights, but only she can guide her way.

The cast:My Protagonist will be (Karla Camila Cabello) Camila Cabello.

The reason I pick her as my main actress even though she's actually not an actress is because this a teen film and she fits the image perfectly for the role and what I picture in my head, she is also an excellent singer who has fought for her dreams and auditioned on the X Factor USA (Now is a part of a girl group called Fifth Harmony).

The cast:• My antagonist will be María Canals Barrera

Who will play Camila’s mum.

The reason this fits perfectly well is because they were both born in Miami and look sort of similar. (there could be a problem with accents since both are meant to be from Connecticut however not everyone has an accent)!

María is a well known actress for her role as Alex Russo's (Selena Gomez) mum in Wizards of Waverly place and also the film that inspired mine Camp Rock. This makes her the perfect person to fit the bill she has had experience acting as a mum and in a teen music film.

The director:My director will be Matthew Diamond.

Matthew Diamond is an American film and television director, producer and choreographer.

He is also the perfect person to direct my film as he was the director for Camp Rock, he is from New York which is considered to be the city of lights and he will have great ideas to fit my plot as that is where most of it will be set.

My target audience:

I want my target audience to be children because I remember watching camp rock for the first time and it completely made me love music even more, I want it to inspire people to achieve their dreams no matter what comes your way even if its no supportive parents (a major part of this film is her non supportive mother) which all sounds a bit cliché but its true and one of the reason I still chase my dreams was due to that film and how music brings people together.Its important for someone young to have a sense of belief so my target age will be 4-12 mainly.

Setting and location:

• Connecticut: This location wont be a major part in this film its only the lead up to when they move to the city.

My two main locations will be Connecticut and New York.

• New York: However New York is the main location and where the biggest part of the movie will be set.

Film comparisons!

• Camp rock: I love this film its my absolute favourite and its taught me a lot, I think the comparisons definitely are the basis of the story where you have a teen girl trying to achiever her dreams and its during summer but its also different because of the situation in camp rock her mother is supportive and the people around her all try to pitch in however in my film she's left to make her own luck.

• The cheetah girls: This is one of my first childhood memories and Disney films that I've watched I think you can compare it in the sense that they both base on winning a competition but the cheetah girls are more about a group of friends as appose to my film and as I've said before she needs to do this on her own. But the message is to not listen to anyone and do what they tell you, you cant do. The word itself says you CAN!

Budget!

• I think my film should be high budget because to be honest the places where it’ll be set and the people I've casted will cost quite a bit of cash to make but also because I want to release it as in partnership with Disney.

THE RELEASE!

• My film will be released pretty much in every cinema. If I'm going to work with Walt Disney it’ll be a major film production and target audience wise a lot of children will want to see it.
