Off site in Solihull Interview Sineade Bates – Hollister model/employee

We originally planned to film our interview outside the front of Hollister in touchwood so we went to “The Hub” in touchwood to gain the permission we needed but the women we needed to speak to was not in so we couldn’t get the permission. We then spoke to the manager of Hollister to see if we could film inside the store but she said that we couldn’t as they weren’t allowed to let people film inside. As a group decided to film the interview in the park as this was a location we had not used yet and would add some variation to our documentary. When we started to film our interview we then discovered our microphone was not working so we took the risk of filming our interview using just the microphone that is in the video camera. When watching our footage back we were pleased because the sound is clear and Sineade gave interesting and good answers to our questions.

working in a shop to go with Paul Ashdowns interview. We also got a video of a photoshoot to use in our documentary. We will need to cut these videos as we have a lot of archival footage and using it all would be very long, boring and would not be appropriate. However, using snippets of this footage will make our documentary much more interesting to watch.

On Site at Sixth Form Background footage in the refectory

As one of our Vox Pops is in the refectory being answered by students we decided to film students walking into the refectory as we will be able to use this as background footage and it will link with our Vox Pop. We took two takes of this background footage as in the first one we took it cuts a lot of people’s heads out as the camera was positioned quite low so we may decide not to use this one.

On Site at Sixth Form Presenter speaking on screen clips

Today we successfully filmed our presenter. It took us quite a few takes to get the right footage with the right audio as it was difficult to remember the script. We also did some filming in front of the blue screen so we can edit in some back ground footage as well as some on location filming. We also had a problem with our tripod as it was missing a screw so we had to waste time taking it back and getting it sorted, however we still managed to get all the filming we required in our dedicated time.
