Final Cover, Contents and DPS

By Gaby Skingle

Front CoverI chose a white background as with

other magazines white showed expensiveness and a more classy

theme. I chose the theme black and pink as it still looks professional and upmarket. I chose pink to stand out and black as it is a statement colour.

For my masthead I decided to incorporate my colour theme to it

and overlap text so it looks like text at the cinema and on Broadway. I also chose pink as it is a feminine

colour and my magazine is aimed at teenage girls. I included a plug as

the cover of her new album is on the front so it is advertising her album.

Contents PageI chose a national dotted font as I wanted it to look like a olden day cinema like my masthead.

So I chose to so this for the title of my contents page but also my

sub headings. I chose to write each page and its contents in

either black or pink. I also wrote a editors note as most top rated magazines have them. I chose

these two photos and used Photoshop on them so there

was no background to make it look more professional and look like it flows. I also chose these

specific images as they look natural and not awkward.

Double Page SpreadUnlike my front cover and contents page I used Adobe InDesign. It was a lot harder then Photoshop so certain aspects I still had to do on Photoshop but then insert them. I chose a white background for

my double paged spread as that is the background I had used throughout. I used pink boxes with the national dotted font for sub

headings. I chose to do this as I did this in my contents page and wanted to link the two. I also did the heading and a pink box with page numbers over both the pages to show they are together and continue from one another. I chose one black and white image and

made it bigger then the other ones to make it stand out. I Chose two smaller images and put them in white boxes to make them look like olden day photographs. I also used pink for my questions as it is part of my colour scheme and so you can clearly distinguish between the

question and answers like many other magazines I have seen.
