Based on the data presented, we have learned that Students of all populations are having challenges on the GHSGT inSocial Studies, so it is important that we look at what we can do tofurther student progress in these areas. As our population continues to become more diverse, it is veryimportant that East Paulding HS uses the data available to decide howinstruction can be changed and/or improved to meet the needs of adiverse student population and close the achievement gap betweenAfrican American students and all other student groups. Although East Paulding HS students frequently outscores the districtaverage on the SAT and ACT, we can examine what students needassistance with to raise scores to exceed the state or nationalaverages.CHALLENGE:Use data as a tool to improve student achievement! 23. AS YOU LEAVE.. PONDER.. What can we as faculty do to help the studentsand how can instruction be improved to meet theneeds of a diverse student population? What strategies can we implement in ourclassrooms and as a school? How can we close the achievement gaps betweenstudents? 24. http://www.doe.k12.ga.us/ReportingFW.aspx?PageReq=101&PID=63&PTID=214&SchoolId=21815&T=0&FY=2010 Dr. Valerie Moore, Head Counselor School Dashboard- East Paulding HS
