In recognition of its performance and high standards in providing quality education, the

Institute has been conferred Autonomous Status by the University Grants Commission since

2006. The institute has also been rated “A” by National Assessment and Accreditation

Council (NAAC) in 2009. The Institute also has the distinction of being ISO 9001:2008

certified and it has been ranked among the top B-schools in India by various research

agencies. The MBA (Full Time) program of the Institute has been accredited by National

Board of Accreditation, AICTE, New Delhi. The Institute has been accorded permanent

affiliation by Devi Ahilya University, Indore. The Institute has also been recognized by the

University Grants Commission, New Delhi under 2(f) section and 12(b) Section.

I am very pleased that Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Indore (PIMR)

starting with a modest base has in a span of 20 years blossomed into a well-structured

professional business school with over 2000 students drawn from all parts of India. It has

taken into rightful place among top 40 business schools of India. It has taken to rightful place

Located in the heart of the city in congenial education environment with constantly expanded

infrastructure, outstanding library including E-Library and advanced computer lab, PIMR has

evolved itself as number one management institute of Central India. In addition to MBA,

It is indeed, highly gratifying that Prestige Institute of Management and Research (PIMR) has

played a pioneering role in building the edifice of high professional and business-oriented

professional management education and has contributed to Indore being transformed into a

national education hub.

The widely acknowledged success of this flagship institute has prompted the Prestige

Education Society to set up similar management Institutes at Gwalior and Dewas. Both these

Institutes have also steadily moved up in quality, popularity and national ranking among

leading business schools of India.

Prestige Institute of Management and Research has become one of the most preferred B-

School in central India, providing quality management education with intense academic

inputs, rigorous industrial training and extensive institute industry interface. The institute,

besides being on the premier B-Schools in India, is also a research center. The institute

provides its students and ambience for research, learning, innovation, creativity and

entrepreneurial ability enhancement.

During the last 20 years, the institute has many accolades to its credit which include

autonomous, status conferred to it by UGC, Accreditation for its MBA program by National

Board of Accreditation (NBA), AICTE, “A” Grade by National Assessment and

ABOUT PIMR

The institute has been rated “A” by National Assessment and Accreditation Council

(NAAC). Its MBA program has been accredited by NBA and the institute enjoys

international accreditation by International Accreditation Organisation. The Institute also has

the distinction of being ISO 9001:2008 certified and it has been ranked among the most

preferred B-schools in India.

THE INSTITUTE

Prestige Institute of Management and Research is conceived as a unique growth oriented

Institution of professional education and training. The Institute had in its genesis the solemn

objective of catering to the educational and training needs of the students, non-resident

Indians, foreigners residing in India, defence personnel and executives from industry and

government. The uniqueness of the Institute lies in its provision for elaborate spectrum of

professional programs under one roof, on-the-job training, semester university examination,

emphasis on qualitative education/training and building of cultural values and development

of dynamic personality. The Institute had made a beginning by introducing MBA (Full

Time) and MBA (Part Time) programs in 1994. Under the ambitious plan to increase the

number of programs to cover the diverse areas of professional education, the Institute has

also started programs like MBA (International Business), and MBA (Marketing

Management), MBA ( Financial Administration) , MBA (Personal Administration) and UG programs. All MBA programs of the Institute enjoy AICTE recognition. Besides this,

the Institute is a recognized research centre for Ph. D. program. Thus, it aims at becoming

one of the best self-financed educational and training centers in the country.

The Institute is working on the principle of self-financing, while philanthropic industrialist

and chairman of the Prestige Group of Industries, Shri N. N. Jain had provided the necessary

initial financial support. The Institute has approval of the All India Council for Technical

Education and the State Government of Madhya Pradesh, and has the distinction of having

been accorded permanent affiliation by Devi Ahilya University and accreditation by AICTE.

As such, it is a fully recognized institution with Devi Ahilya University awarding all the

degrees offered by the Institute. Further, it has wide support from industrial and business

units for in-plant training and placement.

THE CAMPUS

PIMR campus with contemporary interiors is designed to build an inimitable environment. It

is located in a prominent area of Indore adjacent to Bombay Hospital, six kms. from both

Railway Station and Bus Stand and four kms. from Palasia-Tilak Statue. The academic

complex consists of spacious Lecture Halls, fully equipped with necessary teaching aids;

Computer Lab, Convention Hall, Electronics Lab, Library, Administrative Office and

Students' Activity Space. The premises are accessible and spacious, making the campus

serene and pleasant.

OBJECTIVES

The main objectives of the Institute are:

• To provide professional education and training to all, irrespective of caste, creed,

religion, province, faith, gender, political affiliation and financial status.

• To support executives and other in-service personnel in developing their professional

competence and acquiring knowledge for their career advancement by designing and

conducting the management development programs.

• To organize seminars, workshops and special lectures for updating knowledge of

concepts and practices.

• To provide consultancy and other expert services to business organizations in various

areas like finance, human resource management, marketing, production, systems and

general management.

• To conduct faculty and staff development programs for facilitating the development

of professional competence and knowledge up gradation of the teachers and the non-

teaching staff of the Institute imparting professional and technical education in the

country and `abroad.

• To undertake and encourage research in all areas of the management discipline.

• To take measures for attending to the social and environmental concerns.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

Seminars are organized to chisel the presentation skills of the students, besides exposing them

to real life experiences.

TEACHING PEDAGOGY

The teaching pedagogy used is a mix of innovative techniques and practices. Case study

method and role plays are conducted to expose the participants to the dynamics of practical

management situations. Audio-visual equipments, computer-based simulations, films, video

conferencing and interactive white boards are used to facilitate the development of skills to

enhance learning. The institute has developed an English Language Lab to provide training to

the students to overcome any inhibitions in the language and to expose them to the corporate

communication. Seminars are also organized to chisel the presentation skills of the students,

besides exposing them to real life experiences. Project work is also undertaken by the

students in the topic of their choice in consultation with the faculty guide.

CENTRE FOR HOLISTIC MANAGEMENT

The Institute has a Centre for Holistic Management to help provide insight into a holistic

vision of management. Under this Centre, following programs are being regularly

organized. The PIMR has organized a yoga camp from 9th

to 15th

November 2013, in

collaboration with Shri Aurobindo society, Pondicherry.

CENTRE FOR KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT

The Institute has center for Knowledge Management to help the organizations in enhancing

knowledge skills. As a first milestone under this Centre, a workshop on National

Competitiveness in Knowledge Economy was organized in association with Department of

Information Technology (DIT), Government of India (GOI), and IIT, Roorkee. The main

objective of this workshop was to create awareness in different segments of society. The

personality development workshop was held on 20th

February 2014.

ASSESSMENT CENTRE J

Competency Assessment Centre:

The activities of the guidance and counseling units were carried out under the auspices of the

Competency Assessment Centre (CAC). The CAC established in the Institute in the year

1998 has more than 120 standardized research scales to measure various personality and

behavioral aspects. Besides this, the youngsters are assisted in choosing their career based on

their aptitudes and interests. The facility of personality assessment is open to students as well

as executives. A psychometric test was conducted on students of MBA (FT), fourth semester

in the January-June 2014. The HR Major specialization students were also imparted training

about, how to read pictures in Picture Completion Test.

Centre for Entrepreneurial Development in Association with National Entrepreneurship

Network (NEN)

The Institute in association with National

Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) has started its

Entrepreneurship Cell for students to build their

entrepreneurial skills and support them to think

for the establishment of their own venture

through various workshops, seminars and

competitions conducted by this cell.

The PIMR has organized a backward walk on 2nd

March 2014 which has created the New

Guinness Book World Record of Backward

Walking.

PIMR has won the Entrepreneur Championship Award of Central India after beating 2300 colleges in

2014. The Aghaaz E Cell has begged the National Award for its efforts to promote entrepreneurship

in 2014 by NEN Wadhwani Foundation.

RESEARCH, SPONSORED PROJECTS AND PUBLICATIONS

Research

The Institute lays heavy emphasis on fundamental and applied research in different functional

areas of management. The Institute has been undertaking major as well as minor research

projects sponsored by various funding bodies at state as well as national levels. The institute

is a recognized Rearch Centre of Devi Ahilya Vishvidhalaya,Indore and 101 scholars are

currently registered for Ph.D. degree in management, and forty nine scholars have been

awarded the doctoral degree so far.

Sponsored Projects

The Institute had the privilege of being the nodal Institute for the Northern Region and had

the opportunity to work on a two-year project sponsored by AIMS (Association of Indian

Management Schools) and CCMS (Canadian Consortium of Management Schools) funded by

CIDA (Canadian International Development Agency) titled Empowering Women through

Enterprise. Under this project, six workshops were conducted:

Training Programs for Potential Women Entrepreneurs on February 21-24, 2000, May 9-12,

2000 and September 6-9, 2000 at PIMR, Indore

Workshop on Empowering Women through Enterprise for NGOs on August 16-24, 1999 at

IGNOU, New Delhi

Workshop on Empowering Women through Enterprise for NGOs on July 22-24, 1999 at Fore

School of Management, New Delhi

Workshop on Empowering Women through Enterprise for NGOs on June 28-30, 1999 at

PIMR, Indore

The resource persons were drawn from the organizations like ICICI, SISI, SIDBI,

CEDMAP, NABARD, Rashtriya Mahila Kosh, NIESBUD (National Institute of

Entrepreneurship and Business Development), and Jeevan Jyoti.

Major Research Project on Managerial Creativity sponsored by UGC was undertaken by the

Institute in association with Institute of Management Studies, DAVV, Indore.

Project on Problems of Women Trainers was undertaken by the Institute which was

sponsored by Indian Society for Training and Development, New Delhi.

Books: The Institute has published twenty six books in the areas of Information technology,

Management techniques, marketing, finance, Human Behavior, Business Law to name a few.

Monographs: The Institute has released twenty five monographs so far. Some of these are

Cases in Management: Indian Experiences (2010), Management Research in India (A

Bibliography of Doctoral Topics) (2006) and Online Applications of Information Technology

(2006)

Status Paper: The Institute also publishes Status Paper during International Conference to

update faculty members, scholars and students with the latest developments on the issues of

critical importance. Eleven Status Papers have been published so far on different areas like

Technological Innovations in Indian Banking Sector (2012), Transforming Indian Retail

Through FDI (2012), Theorizing Entrepreneurship: A Study of IT Industry (2011) to name a

few.

Prestige International Journal of Management and Research

The Journal of the Institute is peer reviewed, biannual and having the ISSN No 0974-6080. It

highlights recent issues of management and research and also provides some contemporary

information about the realistic facet of management functions all over the world. It highlights

current research and thinking all over the world.

Prestige Research Abstracts

To facilitate the researchers in reviewing the research work done by other researchers, the

Institute publishes Prestige Research Abstracts, which is a compilation of abstracts of papers

published in various leading journals.

ABHIGYAN

The Institute publishes and releases a souvenir Abhigyan, a collection of the abstracts of

papers accepted for presentation during the international conference every year.

E-Gyan

The Institute also publishes a souvenir E-Gyan, a collection of the abstracts of papers

accepted for presentation during National IT Conference every year. .

Pratishtha

The Institute publishes an Annual Magazine named Pratishtha for providing an opportunity to

students for expressing their creative flair.

Resonance

The Institute is also bringing out a quarterly News Letter Resonance since July 1996 to keep

all concerned, including alumni, abreast with developments in the Institute.

Swagat is brought out to familiarize the students with the day to day working of the Institute.

Kutumbkam

Kutumbkam is circulated internally among the faculty and staff of PIMR and carries the

addresses and phone numbers, birth date and blood groups of PIMR fraternity.

Learning Curve

Learning curve is circulated internally among the faculty and staff of PIMR fraternity. It

gives them an update of latest changes taking place in the economy.

Sanganak

To apprise the faculty and students about the latest developments in IT industry globally,

Sanganak, an e-newsletter is published every month.

Techknowledge

To create awareness about the latest developments in the computer technology and related

developments, Techknowledge, a quarterly e-Newsletter of ISTE Indore Chapter is

published.

Udaan

To increase the connectivity between the alumni and the Institute, a Magazine Udaan is

published which contains the information of the alumni of the Institute.

Online E –Journal

The institute has an online Bi -annual journal having the ISSN No.23501316.

CONFERENCES, WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS

Conferences

The Institute regularly organizes International and National Conferences to provide a

platform for the academicians, researchers, industrialists and students to share their views on

contemporary management issues. Eight international conferences, Eight National

Conferences and Six National IT Conferences have been organized so far.

The eighth International Conference on the theme,’ Managing People, Process and

Environment for Global Prosperity was inaugurated by Ah Kie Lim, Director, Human

Resource Development, Asian Institute of Intetercultural Studies and University of Nations,

USA. The international conference was organized on 30-31st

January, 2014.

The Eighth PIMR National conference was held on the theme “Entrepreneurship; Driver

for Economic Growth” on September 13-14, 2013.

Case Writing Workshops

Looking at the dearth of Indian cases in management, the Institute organizes Case Writing

Workshops twice in a year. Thirty one workshops have been organized so far and around

270 cases have been developed under the auspices of PIMR. Thirty first National Case

Writing Workshop was held in the Institute on 3-5, July, 2014.

Research Methodology Workshops

The institute conducted its First Research Methodology workshop in 2003. The institute has

conducted ten National Research Methodology workshops which have resulted in the

academic contribution of more than 135 research publications. Tenth National Research

Methodology Workshop was organized on July, 8-13, 2013. Research papers were

developed during the Workshop.

Advertising Workshop

Advertisement workshop was organized in PIMR on March 4; 2014. Bang in the Middle

Fame Guru Pratap Suthan gave some tips on advertisement. The PIMR has organized a two

days workshop on Digital and Social Media Marketing on 26-27 March 2014.

Seminars and Workshops

The Institute has been regularly conducting seminars and workshops on the topics relevant to

management and allied disciplines. Some of the seminars and workshops were taken by some

eminent personalities on the topics like Interview tips, Preparation for and Career Progression

in FMCG, Financial Planning and Investor Awareness for Executives to name a few.

Faculty Development Programs

The Institute is very particular about the continuous development of its faculty members. It

organizes training programs, workshops and sponsors faculty members to National and

International Conferences and Seminars organized by various institutions across the globe.

Academic Forum

This is a unique feature of the Institute that provides opportunity to each faculty member to

share his/her thoughts and academic views. Academic forums are held every fortnight to

arouse and sustain academic ambience in the Institute. Some of the topics on which academic

forum was organized like Time Management, Financial Planning for the Non Finance people.

Case Bank

The Institute is developing a Case Bank for facilitating the faculty in procuring cases on

various topics. Besides having a collection of 593 cases from various sources, it also includes

the cases for classroom teaching and training programs developed by the faculty of the

Institute.

Faculty and Staff Clubs

PIMR has a Faculty Club as well as a Staff Club, which celebrate birthdays and organize

farewell for and outings to facilitate the development of fraternity amongst all members of

the PIMR Family. The employees of the Institute are sensitive to social issues, and have

always come forward at the time of national disasters and calamities. They voluntarily

donated one day's salary towards Mumbai Deluge Relief Fund, Tsunami Relief Fund, Gujarat

Earthquake Relief Fund, Orissa Relief Fund and Kargil Fund in the past.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES The Institute regularly organizes various

cultural and social activities. Functions like

Independence Day and Republic Day are

celebrated by students, faculty and staff

members with patriotic zeal. Sports

Competitions, Quiz, Antakshari etc. are some of

the regular co-curricular and extra- curricular

activities of the Institute. To promote Indian

culture amongst youth, some of the programs

organized in association with SPIC-MACAY. The Institute organized a ‘Kathakali Dance

Performance’ in collaboration with SPIC-MACAY (Society for Promoting Indian Classical

Music and Culture amongst Youth) on September 06, 2013.

FACILITIES

AUDIO VISUAL SECTION

The Institute has an Audio-Visual Section with 691 CDs comprising the latest films, both

Indian as well as foreign, in the area of management. The collection also subsumes audio

visual material relevant to topics of management and allied disciplines that help in teaching

the students more effectively.

Computer Lab

PIMR Computer Lab is well

equipped with computing

resources to cater to the

technological needs of the

Institute. The campus of the

Institute is Wi-Fi enabled and the

Computer Lab has 746 terminals.

To meet the printing needs of the

members of the PIMR fraternity,

the Lab has 19 printers which

powerful 64 KVA generator. The Lab is available to the students for more than 12 hours a

day. The Institute has also provided Laptops to its faculty members. To meet the

communication needs of various members of PIMR fraternity, the Institute has an Electronic

Private Branch Exchange (EPBX) with 99 lines scalable to meet the increasing demand.

Interactive White Boards: The Institute has provided two interactive white boards for class

room teaching.

Video Conferencing Facility: The Video Conferencing Facility has been installed in the

Institute using a Static IP address and Polycom Camera facility and is connected with Dewas,

Gwalior Institutes.

Language Lab: The Institute has developed an English language lab to provide training to

the students to overcome any inhibitions in the language and expose them to the corporate

communication.

Hostels

The Boys Hostel consists of two sitter and three sitter rooms, which are spacious and well

furnished. The hostel is located at a distance of about one km from the Institute. The Girls

Hostel is located in a posh civil area which is at about five to ten minutes walk from the

The Institute Library is equipped with state of the art multimedia PCs (P4 with 2.4 GHz) with

broadband Internet connectivity and speaker. Users can access electronic resources such as

SAGE online journals, EBSCO Database Business Source Elite, and Delnet Databases. Users

Library Automation

PIMR Library Information System has been automated with the installation of ACCsoft” 2.0

standard software designed and developed by Emperor Solution. Transactions (Issue/Return

Process) of the resources has been automated with the help of bar code system. OPAC (Open

Pubic Access Catalog) facility is also available for users.

Summer Training

Summer training is an essential component of PIMR's curriculum which provides practical

orientation to students. Every student of the Institute is required to undergo training for a

period of 6-8 weeks. Summer training is arranged for the students of all courses. Some of the

companies in which students have done summer trainings are PARLE AGRO, ICICI, HDFC,

AMUL,RUCHI SOYA to name a few.

Industrial Visit and Orientation

Chhavi Jain Memorial Oration

The Institute has endeavoured to commence a series of Chhavi Jain Memorial Oration to

commemorate in a constructive manner the memory of Late Shri Chhavi Jain. On this

platform, the Chhavi Jain Memorial Oration was delivered on by Mr. Dilip Chhabria,

Founder and Chairman, DC Design, Mumbai.

Expedition

PIMR Students' Club organizes trekking camps to various places of interest under the banner

Expedition. Till date many trekking tours have been organized by the Institute. The places

visited so for are Mehndi Kund, Janapav, Kulthan Valley, Safari Park to name a few

Foreign Tour

The Institute also organizes foreign tour for its students. The students have been taken to

Europe in 2009, Hong Kong and Macau in 2010, Singapore in 2011 and Europe Tour in

2012. From 27 March to 4 April, 2014 a foreign tour was organized for the students to

Malaysia and Singapore.

Foundation Day

PIMR has been organizing a series of Foundation Day lectures every year by inviting eminent

Management Games

The Institute in association with All India Management Association (AIMA) has hosted

Students' Management Games (SMG) for Western Region. SMG is a unique and very popular

game among the B-schools because of its dynamic nature, which provides a better

understanding of business realities and the dilemma faced in decision-making. It is based on

computer software Chanakya. This game was organized for the first time in the State of

Madhya Pradesh in 1999 by PIMR in association with AIMA. Thirteen Student Management

Games were organized at PIMR.

PIMR Students Club

The Students Club of PIMR provides a platform to students for expressing their talents and

acquired knowledge. The Club also organizes seminars, competitions, quizzes, cultural

programs etc. Majority of these activities are planned and executed by the students

themselves. The Institute has been organizing a three-day annual management festival,

Manthan since 1998. By spending time together in social and professional activities strong

team spirit and the feeling of camaraderie develops among students. In 2013 Manthan was

organized during 6-8 October. Over 700 students from various management colleges in India

participated in the function.

Pragya

The Institute organizes National Summer Training Project Report Contest for providing a

learning platform to budding talents to compete on their projects accomplished during

summer training. The institute organized its Eighth National Summer Training Project

Report Contest on October 8, 2013.

Pratibimb and Management Film Series

Pratibimb and Management Film Series were started in the Institute with the purpose of

showing various functions of management being implemented at various levels of the

organizations. The films focus on varied issues and highlight the actual scenario of the

management arena in the country and around the globe. Under the Management Film Series,

more than thirty films have already been screened with the first one being shown on July 24,

2004. Pratibimb-2014 was organized in the Institute from 27-29 March, 2014. The films

screened were Kung Fu Panda, Fashion and Bhag Milkha Bhag.

Rotract Club

Rotary International has given Charter to install Rotaract Club in the Institute to provide

opportunity to the students of PIMR to serve the society in general and weaker sections in

particular and carry out programs to maintain the ecological balance. The PIMR Rotaract

Club was adjudged as the Best Rotaract Club of the Rotary District 3040 for the year 2004-

05. It organizes various activities like Blood Donation Camp; and Rose Day and Chocolate

Day to raise funds which is donated for noble cause. Following Activities were organized

under the banner of Rotaract Club in 2013-2014; PIMR organized Blood Donation camp on

National Business Plan Contest ‘SWAVALAMBAN’ is organized by Entrepreneurship Cell

of the Institute every year in association with National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN).

The purpose of this contest is to explore the entrepreneurial skills of the students and to

encourage them to be future entrepreneurs. Ninth National Business Plan Contest

Prayas

PIMR organized the Ninth National Inter-Institute Case

Study Competition, Prayas, on March 1, 2014. Prayas is a

link in the chain of Inter-Institute case study competitions

that were initiated by the Institute in 2001, when the first

such competition PIMR-Eicher Inter-Institute Case Study

Competition was organized.

Srijan

For fostering and testing the software development skills amongst the students of various

professional programs, the Institute organizes National Inter-Institute Software Contest,

Srijan annually. Teams from various academic institutions across the country participate in

the contest by developing Database and Core languages oriented software projects. Seventh

National Inter-Institute Software contest in association with ISTE, Indore Chapter was

organized on September 20, 2013.

Spardha

To chisel the personality of the students, PIMR organizes National Sports Festival, Spardha

annually. The events in Spardha include carom, chess, table tennis and volley ball. The

Eighth National Sports Festivals have been organized on 21-23, February 2014. Annual

sports meet-2014 was organized on

Shanti Niketan

Under the aegis of PIMR Students Club, the Institute has been organizing Shantiniketan,

which is an excursion cum learning tour program. The purpose of the tour is to combine fun

with learning to develop team-building skills amongst the students of undergraduate and

postgraduate programs. Till date nine educational cum recreational tours have been organized

students also participated in workshop on Power Within ,organized by Sri Aurobindo

Foundation for Integral Management, Pondicherry.

PIMR Marketing Forum – “M-Hi”

The Central and western India’s first PIMR Marketing Forum “M-Hi” formally inaugurated

by Management Guru, Chief Editor-DNA Money and regular Columnist of Management

fundas in National daily Newspaper- Shri N. Raghuraman on 19th September 2010 at PIMR

convention hall. Shri Goutam joshi Creative Director-Vigilence Publicity were present on this

occasion.

The “Informatics-PIMR Marketing Forum –M-Hi” was released by Mr Raghuraman and Dr

Sharma. This Booklet contained the Mission, Vision and objectives of forming Marketing

Forum. Mr N. Raghuraman had a four hour long Dialogue with the students of PIMR Forum

Members on Market communication.

The Marketing Club organized a Written Marketing quiz on 3rd

Human yield development Escallator is a HR club of Prestige Institute of Management and

PIMR Finance Club

The Institute has formed PIMR Finance Club to organize regular training programs on

finance related topics and to sharp financial skills of students. Club is also providing to all the

student members six month subscription of Global Trade Cracker Simulation Software on

which students can create mock trading floor. On software, student members can trade in

Equities, Futures and Options, Commodities and Mutual Funds using mock money based on

price-data coming directly from the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Multi Commodity

Exchange (MCX). Club is also distributing Economic Times to all the members. Club has

organized various seminars and workshops on different topics like “Advance Course on

Capital Market”, “Comprehensive Financial Simulation”, “and Awareness about the Indian

Commodity Markets”, “Certificate Program on Stock Technical Analysis” and “MS Excel

PLACEMENT PROCEDURE

The Cell is mainly responsible for establishing contact with various organizations and

arranging interviews for the students. It also takes care of Industrial Visits and Summer

Training

The Placement Cell of the Institute provides students with the resources and skills necessary

to pursue their career goals. The Cell is mainly responsible for establishing contact with

various organizations and arranging interviews for the students. It also takes care of Industrial

Visits and Summer Training. It functions under the guidance of Faculty Coordinator -

Placement who is assisted by a Placement and Corporate Relations Officer. The Institute

takes adequate care in getting its students placed without reducing the Placement Cell into an

Employment Bureau. The Institute prints Placement Bulletin once in an academic session

giving a brief profile of the students. The bulletin is mailed to well known organizations all

over the country with a request to visit the Institute's campus for selecting prospective

executives as per their needs. The students of the Institute have been offered final placement

and summer training by many renowned organizations. For the year 2013, the average salary

offered to MBA (Full Time) students was Rs 4.5. Lakh. The highest on-campus offer was of

Rs.15.Lakhs per annum.

Yogeshwari Phatak

Ph.D., MBA

Director

Dr. Yogeshwari Phatak has been associated with Prestige Institute of Management and

Research, Indore since November 1, 1994. She took over as Director on November 1, 2008.

Prior to which she has served in Nagpur Doordarshan, Admas Advertising Company,

Nagpur. She has also worked with Gajra Bevel Gears, Dewas. She has been involved with

teaching Financial Services, International Finance and others finance oriented

subjects/courses at Postgraduate level to the students of management for the past 17 years and

has also guided research in the same area. She has studied at Bombay and obtained her

B.Com Honors from Bombay University. She has done her M.B.A. in Finance from

Department of Business Management, Nagpur University and her Ph.D. from Institute of

Management Studies, DAVV, Indore.

She has attended professional development programs like Case Writing and case teaching

workshops organized by IIM faculty and ISB, Hyderabad. She has attended a 10 day Wealth

Management extensive training program organized by ICICI at Pattaya, Thailand. She has

attended a number of National and International Conferences where she has presented

research papers in the area of Finance and Education. She has supervised a number of

research projects and has been awarded the Best Summer Internship Program Co-ordinated

by ICFAI, Hyderabad. She has been a facilitator of case writing and research methodology

workshops. She has to her credit more than 50 research papers in journals and books. She has

edited books in the area of Management and IT and has developed and published a number of

case studies and case monographs. Some of her cases have also been published by European

Case Clearing House, Crantield University, U.K. She has also written and published number

of status papers on Indian and world economy. She has served as an Editor for the Prestige

Indore and has six research scholars registered under her. Her doctoral dissertation has been

Dr. Yogeshwari Phatak has been continuously engaged in corporate training and is a

recognized AMFI trainer. She has also conducted training programs for executive of J.K.

Industries (Tyre and Tube Division) at Kankroli, Indore Management Association, NJ Invest

Pvt. Ltd., Surat and Rustom Ji Armed Police Training Academy, Indore to name a few. She is

He joined the Institute on June 16, 2008. He is Professor in the area of International Business

in the Department of Economics in Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Indore,

Madhya Pradesh. He has nearly 15 years of Industrial experience and 15 years of teaching

experience. He has been awarded a Ph.D. in Economics from the reputed School of

Economics, Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidhyalaya, Indore, and completed his masters in

International Business from the same Institute. He has been guiding research scholars in

various disciplines of economics. He has edited 3 research books up till now and his various

research publications have been accepted by the SSRN for public viewing creating high level

of impact.

Alok Bansal

Techniques

He joined the Institute on July 16, 2005. He has Fourteen years of teaching experience and

one year of industry experience. His areas of interest include Information Systems, Software

Engineering, Business Research Methods and Decision Making Skills. He has more than fifty

publications to his credit. He is a recognized Ph.D. Guide of Management in Devi Ahilya

University, Indore. Five Ph.D. degrees were awarded under his guidance. He has published

his research work and case studies at National and International level. He has also published

four monographs based on IT namely: Information Technology Security; Artificial

Intelligence Applications; Enterprise Applications and Online Applications of Information

Technology in the year 2006. He has also edited four books namely ‘Organizational

He is Associate Professor and Head –HR and General Management at Prestige Institute of

Management and Research (PIMR), Indore since Aug. 2007. He has teaching experience of

more than 18.5 years and industrial experience of around 2 years.He has been awarded Best

Teacher Award by PIMR, Indore in Third International Conference held in Feb. 2009.He has

been involved with teaching organizational behavior, Human Resource Management, Labour

Laws, Industrial Relations, Human Resource Development and other subjects of HR at

graduate and postgraduate level to management students and has also guided number of

students for their Major Research Projects and Summer Training Projects. He is a Life

ORDINANCE FOR PROHIBITION OF RAGGING

1. Any individual or collective act or practice of ragging constitutes gross indiscipline and

shall be dealt with under this Ordinance.

2. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited within the premises of the Institute.

3. Ragging for the purpose of this Ordinance, ordinarily means any act, conduct or

practice by which power or status of senior students is brought to bear on students

freshly enrolled or students who are in any way considered junior by other students and

includes the acts or practices which :

a) involve physical assault or threat, or use of physical force;

b) violate the status, dignity and honour of women students;

c) violate the status, dignity and honour of students belonging to the scheduled caste

or tribe;

d) expose students to ridicule and contempt to affect their self esteem;

e) entail verbal abuse and aggression, indecent gestures and obscene behavior.

4. The Director of the Institute shall take immediate action on getting any information

about the occurrence of ragging.

5. The Proctor may also suo moto enquire into any incident of ragging and make a report

to the Director of the identity of those who have engaged in ragging and the nature of

the incident.

6. The Proctor may also submit an initial report to the Director establishing the identity of

the perpetrators of ragging and nature of the incident.

7. If the Director of the Institute is satisfied that for some reasons, to be recorded in

writing, it is not reasonably practical or expedient to hold an enquiry, he may direct the

Proctor accordingly.

8. On the receipt of the report under Clause (5) or (6) or a determination by the Director

disclosing the occurrence of ragging incidents in Clause 3 (a), (b) and (c), the Director

shall direct or orde rustication of a student or students for a specific number of years, or

any other punishment that is deemed fit.

9. The Director may in other cases of ragging including the incidents in Clause 3 (d) and

(e) direct or order any punishment that he deems fit.

10. In case where students who have obtained degree offered by the Institute are found

guilty under this Ordinance, appropriate action will be taken by the Director for

withdrawal of degree conferred by the University.

11. For the purpose of this Ordinance, abetment to ragging will also amount to ragging.

12. The Institute is following the Anti Ragging Regulations, as per notification of UGC

Draft Regulations on curbing the menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions.

These regulations are available on www.ugc.ac.in.

13. The use of mobile phones is prohibited in teaching areas of the Institute like class

rooms, library, computer lab etc. Any such act would lead to a disciplinary action.
