TATTOOS WITH MEANING.

This past year a very dear friend of mine passed away at the unfathomably young age of twenty-six, and since then I’ve been going back and forth with the idea of getting a tattoo to honor her memory. Only the tattoo I’d get wouldn’t make

sense or have any real meaning to anyone except me. After her funeral in May, when I was still reel-ing over the sudden shock of her untimely pass-ing, I came across a single sheet of looseleaf paper stuffed absentmindedly in a random notebook. It must have been from the summer we were fifteen, and vacationing with her family in North Carolina. It was a page she had copied from the 1970’s best-seller Jonathan Livingston Seagull and it quoted, in her own handwriting, “You have the freedom to be yourself--your true self--here and now, and nothing can stand in your way.”

Names & DatesThe simplest and most direct way of honoring a loved one who has passed is by listing his or her name and/or the dates of birth and death. Whether it’s a small grandma scrawled in soft script on your shoulder blade, or a full back piece with first name, middle name, last name, date of birth, date of death and an accompaying quote and mean-ingful image, this type of memorial tattoo will always be popular.

HeartsWhen you lose someone we love, you feel like your heart is breaking. And even once time has passed and the wound begins to heal, you still feel like a chunk of it is missing, like there’s a hole in your heart that can never be filled. Perhaps that is why so many people opt for a simple or elaborate heart tattoo as a memorial--to ink on your skin what you can’t feel in your flesh.

PortraitsAs I mentioned in my hub on Tattoo Ideas: Por-traits, getting a portrait tattoo is often a very moving and emotional experience. This emo-tional experience is doubled when the portrait tatoo is intended to honor a loved one who has passed away. Portrait tattoos are quite com-plex, and require the patience and dedication of a seasoned tattoo artist who pays attention to detail and hopefully has a good deal of ex-perience with this specialized type of artwork.

R.I.P.Finally, the last type of memorial tattoo is the simply stated, oldest sentiment in the book: R.I.P. which stands for Rest in Peace. This is, af-ter all, our greatest hope. We pray that our loved ones who suffered through sickness, heartache, or depression, are now in a place where they can hurt no longer. We pray that they are resting peacefully as they watch over those they left behind on earth. We pray that they are resting before they find another womb to grow in, and come back to us so that we may meet again, if not in this life then certainly in the next.

Do Accessories have meanings ?

words by Declan McCarthy

When we talk of fashion accesso-ries the first thing that comes to our mind is jewelry. Different jewelry is there for both men and women. You will find various designs, material and styles suitable for all ages. There are plastic and glass jewelry espe-cially made for the kids and teens because more than often they loose them. So going for an expensive piece of jewelry will be of no use. They like colorful jewelry. You can eas-ily buy them junk jewelry. However junk jewelry can look very stylish on anyone if it goes with proper dress.

Accessories

Women prefer diamond rings, small platinum pendants, charm bracelets, gold necklace, earrings and so on. For special occasion women can choose jewelry made with precious stones. Costume jewelry is also playing a great role in the hottest fashion trends. Men mostly prefer larger pendants and large rings with a cross or any other sym-bolic sign on them. Silver chains are also perfect for men. Along with jew-elry sun glasses and watches are also considered to be fashion accessories.

What sort of tattoo do you have ??

n the crazy world of small dog clothing, chihuahua ac-cessories are beginning to take over in terms of popular-ity with chihuahua owners. Along with buying the latest chihuahua clothes for their cute little pooches, these little dog owners are start-ing to get rabid over the little chihuahua accessories avail-able on store shelves today.

Small dog accessories come in a multitude of forms. You can purchase rhinestone-embedded little chihuahua collars and leashes for your pampered pup. You’ll even see little chihuahua necklac-es you can bling up your little dog with, to give her that Par-is Hilton fashionista, drama look! You can even buy boo-ties for you chihuahua dog, to give her that Beverly Hills Chihuahua fashion look that dog owners seem to love.

This small dog apparel is becoming very popular in big cities in the US and in the UK, where it seems dog owners who have a lot of lit-tle doggies are trying to find something beyond the classic nylon dog collars and leash-es, like the luxury chihuahua accessories you can find at the Chihuahua Shop today.

Browsing around the Chi-huahua Shop, just as an ex-ample, you’ll find chihuahua doggie booties along with chihuahua accessories that you usually won’t find at lo-cal pet stores like Petco or Petsmart. There is the odd time you’ll be able to pick these little doggie accesso-ries up at those local stores,

but it’s definitely the excep-tion to the rule in such cas-es. Many of the bigger pet stores don’t even consider carrying the cool, crazy chi-huahua doggie accessories you can find in the boutique shops. Most of these bigger stores don’t carry a lot of accessories for small dogs like chihuahuas and yor-kies and the Maltese dogs.

These accessories for chi-huahuas are much more of-ten found in the boutique dog clothing shops that you’ll find online. Most of small dog owners are flock-ing to the chihuahua clothes fashion trend and indulging their fashionista side with their long haired chihuahuas and their yorkie dogs and their apple head chihuahuas. Accessorizing you chihua-hua doggies with these can be a lot of fun, so check them out, pick a few of them up, and enjoy yourself!

IS THIS FOR REAL ??

OBSESSION

In the past tattoos and tattooed persons were often looked at with a certain amount of distain. Tattoos were a sign that you had been in prison, were a sailor or were sim-ply a person of questionable character. While there are many who still hold to this belief today, tattoos and the persons sporting them are widely more accepted. Even those who are tattoo obsessed and covered with any num-ber of tattoos are approached more often in curiosity rath-er than fear and reproof.

Tattoo obsession fits nicely into our world today. With so many people wanting to stand out from the crowd, “look cool”, tell their story, show their toughness or show off a bit of art, tattooing is rapidly finding new fans. We live in a culture where self expression is highly valued and therefore many feel that it is their right and duty to express their thoughts, feel-ings, associations, ambitions or accomplishments on their arm, legs, shoulders, back, hands or feet with a bit of col-ored ink. Some people still may get a tattoo on a drunken whim or at the loss of a bet, but for the many receiving

tattoos today, there is great thought and purpose behind each and ever ink mark.

Some people go too far ?

Like any obsession, tattooing often starts with that one small tattoo discreetly located on your butt, ankle, or thigh. For women it may be the mark of something beautiful, tattoo designs that re-mind her that not only is she beautiful but the world around her is full of beauty, for a hard working man, a symbol of his dedication to his family. Often the first tattoo can act as a spring-board for many more. Thus the obsession is started with one fateful decision and a handful of money. One moment your sport-ing a small symbol, next your equipped with full tattoo sleeves.

Today tattoo obsession is no lon-ger looked at as the passion of prison inmates or foreign tribal peoples, tattooing has evolved into the silent and artful form of self-expression. In a world where text messages, emails, and tweets are increasingly more common than talking, tattoos can reveal a plethora of information about a person without any exchange of words. The head of a lion, a lamb, thorns and a cross may be one man’s way of telling others he is a Christian while a woman with a mix of flowers, flames, trees and water on her arm may tell of her love for outdoor adventure.

Whether this tattoo ob-session is here to stay or is simply a passing trend,

only time will tell. In the mean time all we can do is admire and maybe join in on this obses-sion. Tattoos may have been a mark of shame in the past but with rising popularity and accep-tance maybe even politicians will start sporting artful tats or something more practical like the law.
