Acocks Green FC had a fabulous victory over their bitter rivals, Kings Heath last night. The win was gladly recieved after three straight back-to-back defeats. Striker, Ste-ven Thomas, said, “This was a very wel-come victory. We knew we needed to win, so we raised our game. We know if we try hard and put the work in - we can win”,

Steven was named man of the match by the local spon-ser after picking up a hat-trick in the game. This is the first ever hat-trick in this fixture ans he proudly got to take the match ball home. As the final whistle blew, the fans raid-ed onto the pitch to celebrate with their local heroes.

Local resident, Wendy Payne, a retirired shop work-er, was horrified one morn-ing when she found the chi-nese restaurant across the road was covered in graffiti. “I was in shock, I wouldn’t know why they would want to wreak the building with this awful graffiti”, she explained. “It spoils the shop and sends a negative message about our area” she continued. However, not all residents in the area share her view. The art work is welcomed by teenagers of the area, many say-ing it ‘brightens up the area’.
