Another part of my BFA art exhibit was I designed labels for cans. Each label lists a chemical that can be found in processed food and describes what effect that chemical has on the human body. By taking that actual chemical structure I was able to design the patterns which you see on each label.

What is the Forx Builders Association? The Forx Builders Association was founded in 1966 bya few local builders to promote the building industry. The Association has grown to 305 members from thesurrounding area.

How does the Forx Builders Association function? The Forx Builders Association is governed by a ninemember Board of Directors that meets monthly. Thereare eight committees that coordinate the eventsthroughout the year. The biggest event under the guid-ance of the Home Show Committee is the AnnualHome Design & Garden Show held each year at theAlerus Center.

The Project House Committee coordinates the buildingof a house each year with the trade students fromNorthwest Technical & Community College in EastGrand Forks. When this house is sold any profits areused to purchase a lot for the next year's house. This isthe 28th year of this great project.

The Membership Committee oversees current member-ship, retention and new members. They also plan themonthly networking events for our members. TheInsurance Committee is first to receive the quarterlyreports from Blue Cross Blue Shield for theAssociation's Group Health Care Plan. Members withtwo or more employees can apply for health insuranceunder our plan. The Government Affairs Committeekeeps tabs on any codes, licensing and any thing politi-cal that could affect the local building industry. Thereis the Golf Committee and the Sporting Clay

Committee that plan their annual popular events. And last but certainly not

least is the EducationCommittee that

oversees education opportunities for our membersincluding providing contractor classes that areapproved for Minnesota contractor's licenses.Education scholarships are available for our members.

Does the Association do anything for fun?You bet they do. This group loves to network. Theyhave several Builders after Hours that are hosted bymembers. There is the annual sporting clay shoot, golfouting and several general membership meetings.

Is the Forx Builders Affiliated with any othergroup? When you are a member of the Forx Builders you auto-matically become a member with the North DakotaAssociation of Builders and the National Association ofHome Builders. Both of these groups work hard at lob-bying for the building industry.

Anything else?Well, this is the Forx Builders Association in a nutshell. If you would like more information, feel free tocall the office at ...

In every successful business comes change and after 64years of great business and customer service Dakota FoodEquipment saw the need for expansion. The growingdemand for a one-stop commercial Kitchen design & foodservice supply company. As a result Dakota FoodEquipment merged with DHA a commercial design firm(based near St. Cloud, MN) to form Culinex.

"Dakota Food Equipment is a familiar name in NorthDakota while DHA is well established in and around theTwin Cities. Rather than trying to introduce DHA to theDakotas or position a name like Dakota Food Equipmentaround Minneapolis, we decided to rename our entireoperation Culinex," said Dennis Hahn President of DHAabout the name change.

Kevin Bouma, President of Dakota Food Equipmentadded, "both companies bring something extraordi-

nary to the table. Dakota Food

Equipmentoffers commercial kitchen supplyand project management, and DHA brings top-flight kitchen design. Now we have a full-service shopunder one roof, but what really separates us is our unparal-leled dedication to the customer. We want the nameCulinex to be synonymous with customer service, so muchso that the term "customer satisfaction" no longer applies. We aim for customer astonishment. As a result, we've putour slogan right next to the name: Culinex, Serving You."Culinex has kept its storefronts open in Fargo, ND andGrand Forks, ND. Contracting Services, including consult-ing and design, is in Sartell, MN located just minutes fromSt. Cloud, MN.

There has been no change in management, and they are providing the same products and fine service on whichthey have built their reputation in the industry. Since itsinception over sixty years ago, Dakota Food Equipmenthas prided itself on delivering the highest quality and bestvalue to its customers. This practice has allowed Dakota

FoodEquipment to grow into a national industry leader in thecommercial food service equipment and small-wares distri-bution. This tradition will carry on under the Culinex banner.
