Planted in Seattle,

cultivated in San Francisco

and looking for a place to

bloom.

Focused on contemporary

women’s wear but always open to

experimentation.

I am inspired by things that are

unexpected, dynamic, and

seemingly contradictory.

I look for beauty in objects

not innately beautiful. To me, the

interest is in the contrast between two

elements being combined in a way never thought of

before.

I have always been inspired by the idea of a powerful woman. Not in the sense of a wom-an being stronger than a man, or a man being stronger than a woman...in the sense of a wom-an being powerful BECAUSE she is a woman. She makes up for what a man lacks. She has a path for the world that has yet to be explored.

This led me to think about powerful men in history; kings, warriors, conquerors, and their influence on history. What if those men had been women? How would our history have changed? How would our world be different?...And of course, what would they have worn?

Throughout every civilization there has been a specific idea of what a powerful man is and what he looks like. Today there is still a sarto-rial trigger that implies power, strength and dominance. THE SUIT. But women shouldn’t have to dress like a man to feel powerful . Women should have their own dress code.

This collection is built around tradition-al symbols of masculine power seen through feminine eyes. THE SUIT. Worn by a business man, harsh and domineering. He conveys his power without a single word. THE SUIT OF ARMOR. Impenetrable and heavy. He is fearless.

These powerful men in history have beenpreserved throughout time in monolithic statues. Thousands of pounds of marble stand tall and proud; they hold a specific place in our minds and societies. Museums, memori-als, and places of remembrance passed from generation to generation instilling the essence of the male ideal. But what of the women?

When will powerful women be an e x p e c t a t i o n rather than a s u r p r i s e ?

THE HISTORYAllsaints was founded in 1994 by Stuart Trevor and Kait Bolongaro as a British menswear brand designing for high-end retailers such as Harrods, Harvey Nich-ols, and Barney’s. Allsaints brought a fresh aesthetic that ignored fashion trends and embraced their own dark, distressed, yet tailored and utterly glamorous look. Within 4 years a women’s division was added that fed from the same cutting edge appeal, but this time with the effortless sex appeal of a women who found her clothes on her boyfriend’s bedroom floor. At the same time the women’s line was being established Allsaints opened their first brick and mortar store in London and by 2005 they established 10 more stores throughout the UK. In 2009 the company finally made the leap across the pond and opened their first US location in New York and today they have 80 stand alone stores in Canada, USA, UK, Europe, and South Korea and around 40 boutique shops within department stores such as Bloomingdales. Today they are still known for their craftsmanship using leather goods, detailed con-struction and edgy, unique sense of style.
