Project DescriptionThe Valentino park's pavilion is designed as some auxiliary buildings to optimize function of Valentino Park which has been for over 100 years, but also to rouse a piece of past forgotten by modern(compared with Roma and Florence having plenty of historical site, Turin has been known for Turin Tower mostly).

Ponte IsabellaThe bridge bui l t in 1876 ending in 1900. was to connect the area between the railway and valentino in the context of a booming distric in 60s and 70s of the 19th century.

Ponte Umberto I. This bridge Ponte Maria Teresa was built in 1840 demolished in 1906. And then was replaced by the bridge Ponte Umberto I. This bridge was built between 1903 and 1907.

Borgo MedioevaleIt was born in the parco del valentino as a pavillion of the international exhibition in1884,became museum in 1942.

Problems & Solutions

Solution: Create Bridge

Add some point and line to make plent of historical sites connected, new functions could be created at the same time, such as a long pavilion as gallery. point pavilion rest and keep from rain.

problem 1each historical site is connected by a long path, and most parts of path don't have any sign to show what's in front.

problem 2there are many empty grass used for rest. But without introduction, according to survey, it's diffecult to know what the architecture it is.

Survey: Multiple TransportationsBecause of facing River Po, multiple transportations could be chosen in Valentino Park. In addition, in order to keep the original road and path, different road position with river should be surveyed, which could be the reason to design relevant structure.

According to result of survey, there are three types ways: road, path and water channel. besides,it could be know that path is close to river and between road and water channel, which means seting public facilites is maximized function and landscape value.

Create Element: Shadow to Paper Folding

According to problems found in survey, what should I design needs to be functional, guidable and easy-cognizable.

final pavilion keeps the feature of paper folding from the start, which means it still could be unfolded to a whole paper. It's not noly brings a special feature to the pavilion but also reduce the difficulty of transportation by taking apart into pieces of flat board.

This panoramic photo could tell there is good sunshine afternoon, which means shadow created by good sunshine is a easy and effective way to build a native element.

Detail Design: Shadow CreatedIf walking in Valentino Park,it could be found that sunshine is stronger than city center.We are supposed to use this advantage. Real wall and glass mixing together brings interesting shadow.

So many sites could be visited, but there is lack of obvious messages to tell tourists where to go and how to go. Therefore, this kind of signs are designed. They are easy to know the direction and the infomations, and use the element of pavilions also.

Project DescriptionThis project is for those people who are in Hongyuan County, alpine Tibetan specificly living in Tibetan Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Ngawa, Sichuan province, which means rarefied air and relatively lower temperature. Those bad natural conditions bring more challenges to architecture design.

Because our schoo l i s near Tibetan Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Ngawa, it brings a good opportunity to do survey and make sure what we really can do to improve residential condition.

Another type for alpine Tibetan to live is tent, which is easyer to remove.

Problems: Materials are easy to remove even the bircks are connected just by mud and livestock's faeces, but can't keep warm. house plans are simple and only setisfy the most besic requirement, which bring a bad living quality.

Problems: most are built like normal Tibetan residence in county, which means high-altitude is ignored. Therefore, heat preservation still be the problem. energy is another p rob lem, t r anspo r ta t i on isn't effective in alpine area. In addition, the number of Tibetans family are large, usually three generations live together.

Reason 2: They have relatively w o r s e m a t e r i a l c o n d i t i o n than other tibetan who live in community.

Object Selection

Reason 1: After the Wnchuan earthquake in 2008, as the epicenter region, Tibetan residence are rebuilt and updated in most area of Tibetan Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Ngawa. However, hilly plain area isn't epicenter region, so Hongyuan county and Ruoergai county etc still keep what they have been, which could be more modernized.

Project DescriptionThe topic of this competition project is coastal sanatorium. In my opinion the most important problem is how to deal with the relationship between the elderly and the coastal conditions.

Site is located in Huancui district, Weihai. Annual rainfall is rich, summer prevailing wind direction is the south, winter prevailing wind direction is the northwest. Site is near the biggest commercial elegant coast, and the sandbeach.

"The Old Man and the Sea": Homing SeabirdsThe elderly has experenced colorful time for several decades, and pace of life gradually slows down. Old people deserve to enjoy their twilight years in an easyful place.Therefore, the relationship between "the old man and the sea" should be quieter than what's in young time, which means to enjoy the seascape safely and cozily instead of participating in sea entertainment, which is similar with homing seabirds watching the past life.

Space Built: bring nature inside

Function Analysisthere is 4 main function area: medical treatment area is on the highest position, which brings convenience of supervising for public area. Entertainment areas are two gray spaces which are easy to go from ordinary unit area. ICU area seems difficult to get because of on a higher floor, while it directly connects with medical treatment in order to supporting immediately treatment at anytime.

Entertainment AreaThe elderly in Weihai does different kinds of activities, especially outdoor activities, such as playing Chinese chess, chatting, doing Tai Chi etc. According to behavior analysis, it could be tell that under a tree ganerally is the most popular place to do outdoor activities. Under the tree can support a shelter and trees as the nature flag, could brings more relaxed and dependent.

Source of Inspiration:Seaweed HouseThis is the tranditional house for native coastal residents.

The weather in Weihai is wet and humid, and with strong wind frequently. This special structure is very effective to keep from them. Seaweed roof is made by thick seaweed layers, while ventilation is better than normal housebecause of gaps between seaweeds.

Garden to Inside GardenBecause of site at the seaside, strong nature condition would be a very serious condition especially strong sea wind need to be considered, and sanatorium should certify safety primely. Therefore a gray space is created to keep old people from bad weather, and brings green garden inside.

the project take up 3 blocks, and th i s pa r t i s i n the second block, composed by "creativity office", classic office and headquarters building.Three different function zones are independent from each other, but connected by a roof garden.therefore, two open spaces are created.

My mession is create a structure which could be used as a stairwell and a viewing terrace, but also a sculptural structure seen from the out side.

Luxury Club Facade Design[November 2015] AecomThe Club has three entrance, a main entrance on the ground floor, other two entrance connecting anchor store. I used double skin, a surface made by parametric aluminium plate and glass curtain wall which can be seen from gaps between aluminium plate.
