After an amazingly ‘wicked’ tour in the UK, ARRKAII JUNIOR has time to come and have a quick word with your boy AHMED KENEWA. The one they all claim to be a rap saviour; rapping about what really goes on in the streets and not only what he saw on TV. Let’s get the interview started then…

What is your real name and how did you get your rap name?My real name is Rakim kevon smith and I got ma rap name when my bredrin just called me by my initials then I added a junior to it because it sounds cool (laughs)

Arrkaii what do you think is more important, the money or the fans?(laughing) without the fans im nothing, obviously the cash is necessary but the fans are everything. and as i always say ‘it’s not about the money its all about the love’.

Interesting, so… how do you plan to bring it back to old skool rapping?I’m gonna be rapping about reality ennit, what ni**ers actually go through in the ghetto, you get me. I ainnt gonna be rapping about shooting man 24/7 because I don’t do that sh*t.

Describe what you experienced in the streets?It’s F*cked up, I seen my hommies die in front of me and that’s f*cking crazy, people should just get along but that ainnt gonna happen. There’s one rule in the streets shoot or get shot (laughs)

Describe your career so far in 1 word.Unbelievable

Why did you choose that word?I was a nobody 1 year ago; I tried getting money any how you get me. The streets ainnt easy but luckily music gave me a chance and now I got millions of fans trying to buy my first album that got a number 1 single on MTV.

Tell us more about your album Arrkaii.The album is big man, it’s all about my struggle in the streets and about how my hommies stayed by my side. Before I made it big I nearly got jailed for 15 years, then that made me realise I need to do something with my life; that’s why I made this album to prove all the haters wrong, show them if Arrkaii puts his head on something then it’s gonna get done ennit.

As you already mentioned your album got a number 1 single on MTV; how does that make you feel?(Smiling) I feel like I accomplished something for the first time in my life, I feel happy and blessed. It’s the first time I see my mum and she ainnt disappointed (laughs) my whole family is supportive so that’s a good thing as well. I feel blessed that I have a loving mum, good family and on top of that a number 1 single on MTV.

How do you keep it real with family and friends when you’re on tour?I don’t, Music first family second… (laughs) nah I’m only joking, there’s Facebook and a simple phone call Arrkaii always keeps it real with family and friends.

I’m hearing that some famous faces are joining you on your next tour, who are they?That’s a surprise for the fans I can’t say anything, but between me and you she’s a really sexy lady who can sing amazingly. She’s like family to me (laughs) I think you can all guess who it is now.

Hmm, thanks for taking this interview Arrkaii we really appreciate it?No problem man, anything for my man Ahmed (shaking my hand) inabit man I need to sleep, it’s gonna be a long night tonight (laughs).
