WELCOME MESSAGE
It’s a great pleasure to welcome you in Brussels for this second EACS Standard of Care for HIV and Coinfections in Europe meeting.
In the same line as the first meeting held in Rome in 2014, this second edition aims to provide a roadmap for the optimization of care throughout Europe, including Central and Eastern countries.
The meeting will give the opportunity to share experience and data among representatives from most European countries, as well as invited speakers and various stakeholders, such as WHO, ECDC, HIV in Europe and EATG.
Three major topics have been selected, which will be discussed in three parallel workshops: • Adherence to guidelines for treatment initiation and treatment monitoring and outcomes; • Retention in care; • Tuberculosis.
In these three areas, recommendations and tools for measuring progress will be generated and publically issued after the meeting. The goal is to assess the progress made on a regular basis, and certainly at the next Standard of Care meeting in 2018.
We wish you all a very productive meeting.
Best regards,
Prof. Stéphane De Wit Prof. Cristina MussiniLocal Co-Chair Chair
