Acceleration of the Composites Industry largely demonstrated at a vibrant JEC Europe 2014 in its
largest edition ever
A record number of participating companies (1,239) and attendance (35,727) from 88 countries has definitely settled JEC Europe to be the #1 event for Composites worldwide, covering the whole value chain and every application sector.
This edition was honored by the presence of Mr Arnaud Genis President of Owens Corning – Composites Solutions Business, Honorary chairman of JEC Europe 2014.
The growth of the composites sector is fueled by three main international trends:• Innovation and design driving further the penetration of these materials• Competitive manufacturing• Bigger volume in strong growth countries
The 2014 session experienced a record stream of visitors to date at a Composites event. The event increased its surface area to 54,400 sqm (+8% compared to 2013) and moved to 2 levels of Paris Porte de Versailles pavilions 7. The 2 floors were completely full, to such an extent that JEC Group is considering the addition of a 3rd floor for 2015!

JEC Group MoU signed with Korea Institute of Carbon Convergence Technology
Numbers of agreements have been signed on JEC Europe’s stage, confirming JEC Group as the industrial backing of the global composites community. To be highlighted is JEC Group MoU signed with Korea Institute of Carbon Convergence Technology sealing a cooperation for networking opportunities and information sharing for Korean Companies on JEC platforms in particular JEC Asia in Singapore.
Also, the MoU between the Nano Mikro Werkstoffe Photonik cluster from North Rhein Westfalia and the MAUD cluster from Nord-Pas-De-Calais benefited from JEC impact to strengthen their ongoing collaboration.
Similarly, the MoU between the Nagoya University, National Composite Center (“NCC”) - Greater Nagoya, and the CFK-Valley Stade e. V. - Niedersachsen to carry out joint R & D projects and realize innovations in the field of lightweight construction has been signed during JEC Europe 2014.

Likewise, the 2nd Automotive Composites Circle brought together 60 key stakeholders of the Automotive Industry and was a huge success. This confirms JEC Group’s plan to repeat this high-level event at the upco-ming JEC Americas in Atlanta next May 13-15, 2014.

2nd Automotive Composites Circle
60 key stakeholdersof the Automotive Industry
The JEC Europe 2014 conferences, with one session per half-day, were the topics covered the whole value chain: Simulation, Mass Production, Automotive, Aeronautics, Carbon and Thermoplastics with a quality filled program.
Judging by the satisfaction inquiry sheets, 70% of attendees were satisfied or very satisfied. Regarding the themes that they want to see taken up in future events, some trends stood out: the topics of automotive and aeronautics are very in demand, as are thermoplastics materials and simulation.
The speaker lunches, launched in 2013 were particularly appreciated and enabled the speakers to meet one another as well as the conference team.
The Thermoplastics day (booths visit, conferences, lunch and workshop) is an interesting model that can and will be reiterated was quite a success.
39 speakers shared their latest advancements in Composites Research and Applications

Natural Fibers’ Tour/BUSINESS MEETINGS I n n o vat i o n C O R N E R
For the first time, two “Natural Fibers’ Tours” have been conducted with a guide, covering the visit of exhibitors specialized in Composites based on natural fibers. Each exhibitor listed in the tour presented their company, their products and displayed their solutions.
This year again, JEC repeated its high-value ser-vice for exhibitors and Buyers at the Event. The Business Meetings program, a service of prearran-ged meeting between Buyers and exhibitors, was at full capacity as more than 600 meetings have been orga-nized.
