Background: A projection mapping to carry out awareness of increase in baby dumping cases among the youth In Malaysia, 60 discarded babies have been recorded so far this year. When horrible things like this happen nobody likes to look in the mirror. Especially when they think maybe they might have some stake in the issue. Who suppose to blame this? A woman? Parent? Teenager?

Target users: -People in Malaysia (especially Muslim)

Problem Identification: Nowadays, baby-dumping cases are happening almost every day. According to a research, baby dumping cases had already achieved to thousands per a year and suddenly become a big issue in Malaysia. Babies have been dumped into varies places such as in the toilet, dustbin, pail and even on the street. Most dumped babies are found dead and some others are still alive.

Aim and objective: - To educate teenagers and young adults to avoid dumping babies. -To educate teenagers and young adults to avoid unwanted pregnancy. -To tell teenagers and young adults the result of baby-dumping. -To create a feeling of sympathy towards the innocent babies.

Motivation: I’m a newspaper reader and always concerns about the current issue. This is one of the hot issues that always comes out on news as well as other media. I would be proud if I could make some changes (especially to my country) if I can reduce the percentage of this social issues. Maybe by delivering the information through digital media and technology, people can open their eyes and heart. Or by using technology element, that will awaking the feeling of sympathy or awareness (for those are involved) to this issue. Who knows?

As a Malaysian citizen, we proud to know that Malaysia lead to a more competitive level rooted in science and technology. But did we try to look more deeply in despite the modernization? We have forgotten the social development in the country. Every day, If we look at news paper. A lot of issue’s reported about abandoned babies all over the place like in the toilet, along ditches, and so on. Those who are irresponsible abandon babies blindly without any feeling of nature and humanity.

The issue of abandonment is never-ending past few years can be considered as an epidemic or disaster to the country and the most heartbreaking are the innocent baby not only wasted, but also burned. Those who do this are individuals who have no dignity and barbarism. Is not no more humanity in them is not responsible for this. I was study to find the factors that cause the problem of abandoned babies in Malaysia, especially involving teenager. Because of this matter and it was a very serious problem. It’s has opened my eyes and make me willing to help and assist in resolving of increasing this issue seriously. In addition, this study also has identified the effects of abandonment problems among youth generation in Malaysia. If the community be aware of the impact of this abandonment, there would have cases of abandoned babies is reduced.

In reality, the killings of children overcome the brutality of life. Animals may kill their children at birth, but most of the survival factor (made food). But for humans, they have lost their humanity because the worship life of lust. I’ve been hear some quote say “the man can be more noble than the angels if they can beat sense of desire, but they will be worse than animals, if life rooted passions". Accordingly, I managed to get a lot of steps to reduce the problem of abandoned babies that from happening. Indeed, the problem of abandoned babies can be repelled if there is awareness and a sense of responsibility in each individual

How it gonna work??!! My idea is by using projection mapping installation.

What is projection mapping??!! Video projection mapping is a technique under the category of visual art or visual performance. It consists of two equipment which are projector and screen or sculpture. The unique of projection mapping lies on the visual itself which magically blends in with the subject matter (screen/sculpture) byprocess of visual distortion or skewing, hence the term “mapping”. So by this project it will create a mood and attracting audience at the same time and also delivering the message behind the video

Why projection mapping? Easier for audience to understand because using only video and projected in various sections and angles.Also I will put some elements sound emotion like sad/hurt/depress so that can reach viewer's feeling.

Ideation and Concept: There will be a projection about all the example picture of baby dumping. Typography on advice, how to avoid this problem and the effect of this. Attach with sound effect of baby crying, so users can feel sympathy and make them aware about this issue. This projection is going to be an abstract artwork. Hope by this project, it will reducing the percentage of baby dumping in Malaysia.
