Multiple Voices: Layers
Whenasecondvoicewithadifferentrhythmisrequiredwithinameasure,liketheeighthnotesshowninredbelow,enterthenotesinanewlayer.Eachlayerisarhythmicallyindependentvoice.Simplychoosethenewlayerandenterasyouwouldnormally.
Always use layers 1 and 2 first when notating multiple voices. Use layer1 for the higher voice. If there are three or four voices in a single staff, then use layers 3 and 4 as needed.

To add an articulation or expression using a metatool:
