Hello, here is a bunch of facts about Kenya. First Kenya was named after a great
mountain called Mt. Kenya. Kenya is also divided by the equator almost in half. Swahili is the
national language.
The Masiai is the dominant tribe that lives in Kenya. On august 7th 1885 five German warships
storm into the lagoon of Zanzibar Kenya. In October 1952, there was a sudden break of
assassinations in Kenya.
Kenya is about the size of Texas or France. The national language, Swahili, is a branch of the
Afrousiatic language from the horn of Africa. Did you know that Kenya used to be known as
British east of Africa? Wow!
The British government took over the costal area in Kenya in 1895. Britain completed a great
bridge between Mombasa and Victoria Lake in 1901. Full independence was gained in Kenya on
December 12, 1963. The Kenyan flag looks like this……
Chapter 2
Games Did you know that Kenyas storngest team is the Harambee Stars? Well they are. They
are the best soccer team in the whole Kenya country. They are so strong they have only lost
one game last senson won the rest.
Children during the summer like to play hockey when there parents are at work. Theye
play most of the time like ten to five players on a team. They have four to six teams. Two teams
vs. Then they all vs. the team they got the same place in. Who ever wins they take it all.
Kenya has some of the fastest men. Women are fast too, but they stop. They stop
because they could not find a sponser to sponser them because the sponsers only wanted to
sponser men not women. So they quit and went to go and find a family.
Kenyas basketball team became the fastest growing sport. Even faster than soccer and
soccer grew really fast. Fans just wanted to watch the new sport in Kenya. It all started in the
year 1998.
Chapter 3 Did you know that in Kenya there is a chocolate bar called
Zanzibar? Yum! It is good. Kenya have are the best food.
For thousand of year’s people of Kenya followed tradition.
Some people still followed too. The pastoral tribe has cattle and
goats. For their diet they eat bark, wild green, and tuber. The
fishing tribe harvest Tilapia or Nile Perch. The framer tribe
harvest sorghums, millets, cow peas, black eye peas, and yams.
About 1000 A.B a clan called Hina introduced cattle herd
to Kenya. The Maasai and the Turkana used cattle for meat,
milk, and blood. In Kenya people only eat two times a day.
