WHY BRAKE TEST YOUR TRAILER?
• Current regulations state that trailers on agricultural axles can travel at speeds of 20mph and must have at least 25% efficiency when fully laden.
Commercial axles that can be towed at speeds above 20mph require at least 45% braking efficiency. Most trailers do not meet this.
• Under braked trailer equipment can lead to premature tractor brake wear or even failure.
• A new trailer is likely to outlast 2-3 replacement tractors. As the tractors progress and are built to new legislation, your trailer soon becomes
outdated and no longer meets current guidelines.
• If trailer brake actuators do not produce sufficient force your vehicles could
simply not stop in time. • Safety is paramount and prevention is better than the cure!
