Tuition Fees 2011/12• Variable fees from £0 to £3,375
per year• Most Universities are charging the
full fee of £3,375. • No upfront fee to pay• Fees can be paid by a Fee Loan
that is repaid after graduation
Student Loans 2011/12• Fee Loan
– To cover the cost of your fees– Paid directly to your University
• Maintenance Loan– To cover your day to day living costs– The amount you get is means tested on
your parents/household income– Paid in three instalments in September,
January and April into your bank account

Maintenance Loan 2011/12
*Maintenance Loan will be reduced by 50p for every £1 of Maintenance Grant received (up to a max £1,453)making the maximum loan for some students £5,475
How do I repay my Loans?• Through the tax system once you
have graduated• Only start paying once you earn
over £15,000. As an example if you earn:– £17,000 repay £15 per month– £22,000 repay £52 per month
• The Government will write off any Student Loans that are left unpaid after 25 years
Maintenance Grant 2011/12
• Maintenance Grant– Non repayable– Up to £2,906 per year for students
from low income families to help with the cost of studying
Help from Brunel• Bursaries 2011/12
– Full Maintenance Grant will receive a Brunel Bursary of £1,000 per year
– Partial Maintenance Grant will receive a Brunel Bursary of £500 per year
• Scholarships 2011/12– Up to 5 Brunel Alumni Scholarships of £6,000 per
year for students who attend a partnership school/college
– Up to 25 Regional Partnership Scholarships of up to £3,000 per year for students who attend a partnership school/college.
– Music– Sport– Maths Scholarships
