“KATE” HAD EXPERIENCED MISCARRIAGE, BIRTH AND ABORTION. In turmoil, she squirmed at the grim memories of one year ago when she aborted her baby. Now, at twenty-five years old, she found herself in the same predicament. She was pregnant, scared and apprehensive about the financial burden of raising another child alongside her two-year-old daughter. According to Kate, the father of her daughter and her unborn baby was a good dad, but was financially unstable and quite possibly incarcerated.
Despite her setbacks, Kate made strides to improve her life and supply her daughter’s needs. She worked full-time and had recently moved into her own apartment. A couple months after she found out she was pregnant, Kate walked into one of Pre-Born’s partner clinics, seeking guidance. Tears streamed down her face as she released her bottled-up fears to the clinic’s client advocate. What would her parents think? The last time she told them she was pregnant, they were disappointed and non-supportive.
In an effort to affirm Kate, the client advocate invited her to pray. She openly accepted the invitation. Moments later, Kate looked up at an ultrasound that revealed a viable intrauterine pregnancy at nine weeks. Tension had turned to joy as she saw her baby waving at her on the ultrasound. “That had to be God,” Kate said, “especially since we prayed right before.” Kate chose life for her unborn baby and continues to receive follow-up support from her client advocate.
