I have a huge number of folks that have prayed for me and

continue to pray, and for that I am grateful. But I have a

few who agonize with me and love me and encourage me

daily. That is what makes my day happen. I’m encouraged

because my family is at the top of that list, but just

as encouraged by those who I described earlier . My

ministerial friends who keep close contact are constantly

prodding me on.

See, I’m under construction, both physically and spiritually.

Physically, I need constant healing from these surgical

procedures. They limit me a lot more than I thought they

would. But, my greatest need, like all of you, is spiritual.

I need reminded, “when I am weak, He is strong;” “If God

be for me, who can be against me;’ and this one, “there is

a friend that sticks closer than a brother.”

Yep, I’m a man under construction. However, I want you to

know there are entry points to my heart, just

like there are entry points to this building.

When you get here, walk around to another

door. It’s ready to welcome you.

Serving Christ

Bro. Floyd

John 3:30

Dear Family,

Well, as you can see, we have construction going on here

and entry into the building from the

south is not possible. That is one of

the inconveniences we must face when

trying to maintain a building for the church

to use till Jesus is given instructions to bring

His children home. They tell us the

scaffolding will be in place for approximately three (3)

months. Patience please!

In a way, we are constantly going through the same thing in

our own body. We are constantly under construction. And,

because we are under construction, it makes it difficult for

us to let some people into our lives. Construction good; lack

of accessible entry bad!

Why bad? Because we need each other. It is difficult

enough for most of us to move past certain hardships in life.

We need the support of others. We need others whom we

can trust. We need those we know that love us and are

wanting that which is good, not to tear us down, but to

encourage us and to be there when they are needed the

most.

FOR ALL THE TEACHERS OUT THERE

As a teacher, you may think all your students have heard the Gospel so many times that they have grown bored. Let me assure you that is not the case. The world today is full of fear and we never know what insanity will crop up next.

We do know this, however. God is the Creator of all things and loves us. Acts 17:24-28 tells us about our Creator and we live only through Him. He is still in control of everything that occurs and there is nothing which surprises Him.

The Bible, being our anchor document, tells us His story and of His love for us. The literature from which we teach is based totally upon God’s Word. Your personal testimony is also an important part of the total concept of teaching. Your students never tire of hearing how God has worked in and through the lives of people they know. This helps them see the hand of the Father in their own lives.

So, please don’t think they are not listening, they are. They need to hear the good news as urgently as any new visitor. Everyone needs to hear that God loves them and has a plan for their life. They need to hear that Jesus, God’s only Son, came to earth as one of us and bore our sins upon the cross. They need to hear that if they confess with their mouth and believe in their heart that Jesus died for them and rose from the grave, they can have eternal life.

And they need to hear all of this from you. As a teacher, you have their attention every week. That is an awesome responsibility, but God, that’s right, God put you in this position. He would never have placed you there if He wasn’t sure that you wouldn’t trust Him and get to work. God is there with you and with His strength, you can do this.

Let’s keep living what we believe!

Bro. Roger

Spring has snuck by. Summer is upon us. We have gotten

to the most wonderful, crazy part of the year for youth

ministry! We have a lot going on this summer, including

four huge events for the youth, so let’s dive right in by

telling you a little about each one!

In June we are going to Six Flags! We typically go later in

the summer, but this year it just so happened to work out

that it was best for us to go early! This will be a

great kickoff to the summer as there is always

great community growth for each and every student

that goes! WE have a tight knit group and they

love to travel together!

Also in June we have VBS! Last year the youth took a step

up and helped to teach multiple classes including music

and missions! We always do something fun after each

day, but I love that our youth get such a great opportunity

to love on these kids and learn to serve the Lord!

The first week in July we head to Falls Creek! This is an

amazing week of discipleship, outreach, and fellowship!

The students always have a great time with the recreation

and worship and come home with a renewed passion for

Christ. As always, we have several students who will need

scholarships this year along with many food items that we

need! Contact me to donate!

Finally in July we will be going to the north side of the city

to help with Mission OKC and their ministry delivering

lunches and having Bible Clubs for kids in their

community! It is so great for our youth to see just how

desperate the world is for a Savior and to get the

opportunity to love on these kids! Our students work

so hard through this week, but every drop of sweat is

worth it!

As you can see, we will keep a busy schedule this summer,

glorifying God however we can! We thank you for all of

your support!

Much Love Church,

Bro. Lucas
