Amdocs is a software and services provider to more than 300 communications, media and entertainment service providers in more than 90 countries. Its products span business support systems (BSS), operational support systems (OSS), network control, optimization and network functions virtualization and others.

The company also offers mobile financial services to both service providers and financial institutions, as well as solutions for software-powered networks, end-to-end carrier-grade big data analytics, digital lifestyle services, and advertising and media products and services for media publishers, ad agencies and advertising service providers, including directory publishers.

Amdocs maintains offices on six continents with support and development centers located worldwide, including Brazil, Canada, Cyprus, India, Ireland, Israel, Mexico, the Philippines, the United Kingdom and the USA.

In 2000, Amdocs acquired Solect Technology Group, a developer of billing and administrative software for Internet service providers and wireless telephone service carriers. In 2004 Amdocs purchased XACCT, a provider of mediation software to Communications Services Providers. In 2005 Amdocs purchased DST Innovis, a vendor providing end-to-end customer care and billing for broadband, cable, and satellite operators. In 2006 Amdocs purchased Qpass a Seattle-based company with an Austrian subsidiary that provides "solutions" for the marketing and merchandising of digital goods and services. In 2007, Amdocs purchased SigValue Technologies, an Israel-based vendor of prepaid billing systems for mobile operators based in low cost markets. In April 2008, Amdocs purchased JacobsRimell, the UK based provider of "user-centric service fulfillment solutions. In 2010, Amdocs acquired MX Telecom, a leading mobile payments and messaging aggregator. In 2010, Amdocs acquired the French company Streamezzo a leading provider of an SDK and a run-time for portable rich application development and execution across multi-models, multi-OS mobile terminals. In 2013, Amdocs acquired Actix and Celcite, and entered the Network Optimization Services market. In 2015, Amdocs acquired Comverse's billing business. In 2016, Amdocs acquired cVidya, a developer of big data analytics solutions to communications and digital service providers, including Revenue Assurance, Fraud Management, Marketing Analytics and Data Monetization solutions.
