FIND INDUSTRY INFORMATIONUSING SIC CODES

START

To begin select the drop-down menu under

“Search by Content Type”.

SELECT DOSSIER

Choose Dossier to access the industry

information search form.

SELECT INDUSTRY TAB

On the Dossier search form

select the “Industry” tab at the

top to begin the search.

SEARCH USING INDUSTRY NAME

Queries are made using Terms (industry

names) or the SIC (Standard Industrial

Classification) code.

Here a search is entered for the

computer industry using the search

term “computer”.

TERM SEARCH RESULTS

The query returns a listing of industries related to the search term.

The SIC and industry name are displayed.

Select the most relevant term.

INDUSTRY OVERVIEW

Results provide an Industry

Overview of the top companies in

the chosen industry.

Select a company to see a Snapshot

of that company’s information.

SEARCH USING INDUSTRY CODE

A search using the SIC directly returns the listing of top

companies in the chosen industry.

BROWSE INDUSTRY

Select “Browse Industry Hierarchy”

to “Explore the SIC Division

Structure.”

DRILL DOWN

Use the + icon to drill down through the

hierarchical structure until the correct

industry code appears.

SELECT THEN SEARCH

Select the proper industry code

then “click” the OK button for the

Industry Overview.
