This weekend, we would like everybody to become a ‘twitcher!Go outside on Saturday morning at 10:00am and then again at 5pm.Record on the table below how many birds you can see.Use your poster to help you.Bring your results into school on Monday and give them to your class teacher.Happy twitching!Here are some useful websites for you to look at. All the children were given a bird identification sheet and a bird watching form to fill in of how many different types of birds they saw!

We found out that the blackbird and wood pigeon were the most common birds in our area!

65 families took part in the bird search and found out a bunch of different birds!

The most popular bird that was found in the morning was a blackbird.
We found out that the woodpigeon was the most popular bird in the afternoon.
Woodpigeons are very common in our local environment.
Chinese duck Turtle dove

We found out that the three most uncommon birds were the parakeet, the Chinese duck and the turtle dove.
While doing our research, we found out that the turtle dove was one of the three most uncommon birds in our local environment.
The Turtle Dove population in Europe has fallen by 62% in recent times.
Chinese ducks are one of the most uncommon birds in our local environment.

unusual bird that we have seen.
If you see birds on your balcony, garden, yard or by your house, remember to leave some nuts or seeds for the birds to eat.

Water is very important for birds as they need to keep hydrated (like us) so as well as food for the birds, please
make sure you put water as well.
Bird Boxes!We really enjoyed this mini-project so decided to get a bird box for our playground! We are really looking
forward to our bird box arriving especially as we have ordered one
with a camera in it so we can watch all the birds on film!
