3 A GOING PLACES for 2014 Finland, Estonia and Sweden, a Baltic Serenade Preliminary itinerary 6.14.13 Day Service 1 depart USA 2 Arrival in Helsinki, Finland. Overview of this harborside capital city before check in to the hotel. Scadic Marina Hotel or similar. Dinner together in the hotel 3 Morning free for 3 hour sightseeing tour followed by lunch at a centrally located restaurant then rehearsal for early evening CONCERT in the Temppeliaukio Church, the famous Church in a Rock. Overnight in Helsinki 4 Breakfast then morning ferry from Helsinki –Tallinn, Estonia. 2 hour crossing. Met by our local guide, tour on foot of the Old Town including The Cathedral of St Mary the Virgin, St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the main Russian Orthodox Cathedral. St John’s Church or Tallinn Town Hall are 2 possible concert venues. Coach transfer to the Song Festival grounds where every 5th year the Estonian Song Festival takes place (4-6 July, 2014) – to participate, check the event home page http://2014.laulupidu.ee/english/english-esilehe-postitus/ Early evening CONCERT. Dinner at the hotel, Scandic Hotel Palace or similar. 5 Tallinn –Stockholm. Breakfast, free time to spend in Old Town before transfer to Tallink cruise ship overnight ferry with famous Smorgasbord. Clean, comfortable 2-bed cabins 6 Breakfast on board before morning arrival sailing through the beautiful islands of Stockholm arriving at 9.30am. Drive through the Swedish countryside (2.5 hours) to Örebro. Check in for a stay of 2 nights, a walking tour and a late lunch. Here is the huge fairytale Orebro Castle, built 13th to 16th century. Evening at leisure. Clarion Hotel or similar 7 After breakfast, visit the University to learn about Swedish music and music education. Afternoon free to stroll and rehearse for your CONCERT at St Nicholai Church. Dinner at the hotel. 8 Stockholm. After breakfast drive to Uppsala with its magnificent Cathedral and old university. Lunch in Uppsala. On arrival into Stockholm, a guided sightseeing tour and visit to Vasa Ship Museum or the new ABBA Museum. CONCERT this evening. Hotel Birger Jarl or similar. 9 Stockholm – breakast at the hotel, free day for museums, archipelago cruises.
