What more could you possibly want?”

“The bungalow was built at some point in the late 1970s, but during our time here we’ve made some quite significant changes to really open it up, improve the layout and generally enhance the feeling of both light and space. We’ve also created three lovely studio apartments, one of which adjoins the house and two more that are completely separate, and they have all generated a very decent extra income. One of the things I particularly love about the bungalow itself is the fact that because the grounds and open countryside beyond completely surround it, the view from each and every window is just gorgeous. It’s such a lovely home, but in my opinion it still has huge scope to be further enhanced.”

“The bungalow sits on around two and a half acres of land and when we came here it was all just paddocks so with the aim of giving the garden more definition we’ve added numerous beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers. We also have a lovely orchard and there are lots of places where we can sit out and really enjoy these exceptional surroundings. It’s also been a very safe, natural environment in which the children have been able to run around and play football, cricket, badminton… anything they’ve wanted.”

“The huge lounge/dining room is probably my favourite part of the house,” says Maralynn. “It’s just so open, it has huge windows so it’s wonderfully light and bright and it’s fabulous for entertaining.”

“What makes this place so very special, and in my mind totally unique, is the fact that at home we can enjoy utter peace, tranquility, privacy and the most stupendous views, and yet within a matter of minutes we can access all the shops and amenities we could possibly wish for. We can even hop on a train at Banbury and arrive in London in just under an hour. It’s ideal.”

“I use the studio apartments as holiday lets, and I have to say they’ve been hugely popular and therefore are usually fully booked for most of the year. For me they’ve provided a nice little extra income, but they could simply be used for visiting guests or for a dependent relative.”
