We at Jalo Helsinki want people to fall in love with their fire safety products and let these essential everyday objects find their way into as many homes as possible. Safety can be beautiful. Each designer has given their own unique vision and the result is delicious and rich in choices. We are not satisfied with just making fire safety more attractive-looking, but we also want to enhance its usability. Installing Jalo Helsinki products takes mere seconds with no need for screws or a power drill. With our smoke alarms there are no tiny push buttons, but the whole external casing acts as a press switch for silencing false alarms and testing the performance of the product.

• Acrylic coating makes the blanket more airtight, which helps in smothering the fire more effective than before.

• Acrylic coating enables the usage of lighter fiber: The Jalo Helsinki fire blanket weighs only 272 g /m2, which makes the blanket approximately 40% lighter compared to an ordinary fire blanket. Airtight but light fabric is easy and convenient to handle.

• Big size, 120 x 180 cm, is suitable for extinguishing small fires also in cases where a person is on fire.

Tove Jansson was a novelist, cartoonist, painter and illustrator. Today she is known for her Moomin characters worldwide. Through her works she often spoke out for minorities and dealt also with difficult subjects such as loneliness and death. Tom of Finland (Touko Laaksonen, 1920-1991) is regarded as one of the 20th century´s most influential artists. He became known worldwide for his iconic homoerotic drawings that have had great impact on post-war gay culture. Tom of Finland was a self-taught artist who based his works on his own experiences and produced thousands of images starting in the 1940s. Today his imprint can be seen in music, fashion and film.
